AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Good argument. You know how many times "whatever, man." or a paraphrase thereof has been used throughout history just before some idiot himself killed by doing something stupid?

There are a lot of reasonable and unreasonable reasons why it is illegal, but none of the reasonable ones have to do with the physical or mental health of the user. Also, ever wonder why it is illegal to even grow hemp (very very low THC content)?

accually i have wondered that...and just for conversations sake. why?
The plain and simple of it is that I am displeased that even though I have served my sentence that I am unable so far to get my license back, and rightfully so....as was pointed out in my first post, and by another poster (thanks). I never said that what I did was justified, or made any excuses for it. I was arrested and have been punsihed for my crime(s) and more, but that is beside the point. What is the point is that I have done what I was supposed to, and hope that the court system and driver's services will do so as well.
It really irritates me that certain individuals have to come in and be all self righteous and sanctimonious like they have never, nor will ever make a mistake in their lives. There are a heck of a lot worse things going on in this world than what I did, and have more than payed my dues. May toleration and compassion be yours.
Let me get this straight, you're pissed because YOU broke the law, regarding a well known Controlled substance, and now you can't drive?
I forgot that having a driver's license is a right.
Heck, why don't you just drive WITHOUT a license? Your regard for the law didn't stop you from smoking dope and hopping on a bike.
What did you do, sign up so you could give a former pothead a hard time? Read his other threads, he's said before that he's relieved he never hurt anybody and that the judicial system was right to find him guilty. He's just understandably annoyed that he thought his sentence was up but was mislead because his lawyer gave him false information, and now he can't find her. You'd be pissed, too. Bet you got a real kick out of acting all morally superior, though. I hope you catch a ban, you're exactly the kind of person we don't need here.
Also, though I'd love to get into all the political reasons weed is illegal (and the lack of medical ones), let's not start those debates here. That's not what this thread is for, and it's just going to get it locked.

Show me in the enumerated powers where the federal government has the right to totally ban any substance with arguable medicinal value. Or for that matter one without.
As others have stated... Punk made an error, ackowledged it, paid the debt to required to society and is now simply looking forward to restoration of rights that were suspended.

There is a real problem with our judicial system punishing and then overpunishing people for lessor crimes.
If you look around there are people receiving way longer sentences for cruelty to animals than for child abuse. More and more crimes are being moved into the fellony status. It is now a felony to import the wrong type of flower (and no drug connection either).
There are 10 year old children being charged as adults (thus being sent to an adult prison).
This isn't right.
Add in that the courts are now making law rather than ruling on the Constitutionality of laws passed by Congress and it results in a legal system that is out of control.

It's not there. Technically the federal government only has the authority to regulate interstate commerce. That means the buying and selling of things from one state to another.
I tend to hold towards a limited anarchy. There needs to be a complete removal of the existing government and the establishment of a new more limited one.

The Supreme Court has long ruled that the commerce clause applies to anything that might even effect interstate commerce. That includes a decision upholding the right of the Federal government to prohibit the distribution of marijuana grown in California that was to be given (not sold) to other resident of California. The commerce clause is pretty far reaching, though it has been held in check a few times.

The people who advocate any form of anarchy are those who have never lived through it. Plus, that's just unrealistic. The government does too many things right to be removed wholesale.
