Time to buy AMMO

I'm afraid if you have your strike for only 1 day it will be forgotten to soon for it to do any good. What I would like to see done would be to:

1) Stop all campain money. Give everyone who wants to run the same ammount of time on tv, radio and newspaper, one right after the other. This way instead of all the hours of commercials we have 1 hour a day devoted for all the candidates. This way a real person who has never been in office can get the job. I think that is what the country needs a good person not a politician.

2) Stop all the lobby money period. This would cut out alot of corruption in Washington.


3) No more "Golden Parachute" for congressmen or Presidents. In other words they need to have a 401K just like I do. Non of this salary and insurance for life. This would hopefully get rid of the ones that are there for the money and encourage people who just want to do some good to run.

4) Congress person's pay should be rated on the ammount of time they are session, and how many bills they actually vote on. If your out jacking arround and don't vote you get no pay.

I don't know how this could be done, but It sure would be nice. Just like everyone else my $0.02 I'm not sure if it's even worth that.

I'm not a fan of petitions and It's been a long time since school but is there a way that one could put this on a ballot for the people to vote on without going through congress??

Since those in congress wants to tell us they are serving how about we tie there pay to mid level military pay, benefits, and retirement. Military retirement is not bad, and many people live very decently on it from what I see. Granted its not near the level of the CEOs...

How about we limit executive bonuses to successful companies. How about we require repayment of all the bonuses from those executives who ran companies into the bailout. How about we quit giving AIG bailout money to go on executive retreats with. How about we hold those with fancy titles, pay, and bonuses to the responsibilities said compensation is for.

How about we give the unions back to the working men and women. Recall in the end of Animal Farm where the animals look in at the pigs playing poker with the neighbors and cannot tell the difference.... I think you might consider your union leadership in such a light.

Drag the wall street dirt bags out into the street and beat the crap out of them. I'm surprised the employees of the companies that have gone under haven't already done that. One of the execs did get punched in the face I guess...


Course that's more of a punishment than a solution. But it would be good therapy for us all.

EDIT: You know part of this is our own fault. We voted the idiots into office. And I'm not just speaking about Bush. When the politicians do something stupid, we don't vote them out. 90 percent of the people in office our guaranteed there seat next year, because people don't pay attention.

Of course everyone thinks their guy is ok, its all the other politicians that are the problem.

That's the beauty of anyone can run (say 1 from each state just to make sure that we don't have 10 million running) and everyone gets the same ammount of time on tv, radio and the paper. You are voting on what the person says for the 5 minutes that they get. They would have to convice you what they want and what they believe in. No party affiliations. Then you have a primary with all the cantidates and narrow the 50 people who are running down to 3-5 but I would say never get down to 2 just because of the way our 2 party system works now. Then let them pick a VP and have an election. All done in the course of 1 month. No more campaing all freakin' year (this way they get some work done rather than campaining). No more calls at 9:00 pm (I have small kids) wanting me to take a survey. Hopefully we would get a good president out of all this.
