I suppose you won't see this post since you've decided to ignore me, but before anybody else labels me as some internet idiot, I urge you to check that thread and see that I asked for honest suggestions, inserting none of my own personal opinion one way or another. I'm not entirely sure how I got lumped in with "lib high fiving"

You cannot really get on him too much if you support the left. Look at your last 4 nominees firstOriginally posted by snoopay700Or why he's completely changed his stance on everything?
Obama is not exactly consistent between what he "stands for" now and what he has demonstrated on the floor of the Illinois Senate and US Senate to a lesser degree... just sayin
I would also like to point out that one cannot win an election without winning the "base" of ones party (McCain) or capturing the middle-ground and hoping your base still votes along the party line (Obama). This is the source of most of the inconsistencies on both sides. Obama was the guy who had the supporters who criticized him for becoming too moderate as recently as two months ago mind you... Nobody is a saint and everyone flip-flops for political gain. Welcome to the America

props to hilltop customs, this is an extremely good question.Ask him if the political party system severs any purpose other than dividing, segregating, and removing actual thought/decision making from the election process.

Yeah, i know, but McCain's change was much more drastic and we happened to be talking about him. Both guy's are horrible candidates and it seems for this election once again we'll have to choose between the lesser of two evils, maybe we'll make the right choice this time, maybe not.Originally posted by grEnAlEins

And skife, hell yeah that's a good question, i've been asking that since even freshman year or so, the party system is the stupidest system ever, and even Washington warned against it.Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit.Comment

1) Have you seen the base vote that has to win over?Originally posted by snoopay700Yeah, i know, but McCain's change was much more drastic and we happened to be talking about him. , I have not decided yet.
2)
absolutely right.
3) You know it is kinda funny, I just reviewed the the way things worked in past elections and I cannot see any rhyme or reason to what started the two party system. There was a time where there would be 6-8 viable candidates from 5 or more parties, with 4-5 actually having a legitimate shot at winning. I think that one thing that would help us is to rearrange how the parties work. Each of party (there is no way feasible way to get rid of them, especially the big 2) would to have them pick multiple candidates at their primary or eliminate the primary altogether. I think that having more candidates would give us a better shot at a better President, but it might not I guess

It should. But I don't see a reorg happening any time soon. There is too much money involved, and too few politicians are politicians for love of the country.Originally posted by grEnAlEins1) I think that having more candidates would give us a better shot at a better President, but it might not I guess

The two party system came about because people may be on the middle with some issue but for the most part they're either on one side or the other on the big issues, and so the two party system takes advantage of that, and we lose as a result.Originally posted by grEnAlEins1) Have you seen the base vote that has to win over?

Right, but in the past they allowed more than one candidate from each side so things were really not quite as bad, as I see it anyways.Originally posted by snoopay700The two party system came about because people may be on the middle with some issue but for the most part they're either on one side or the other on the big issues, and so the two party system takes advantage of that, and we lose as a result.

Towards the beginning if memory serves, but it soon turned toward what we have now. Granted this makes things simpler for them, but again, we lose in the end result. I love my country, i just wish i could say i'm happy with my government.Originally posted by grEnAlEinsRight, but in the past they allowed more than one candidate from each side so things were really not quite as bad, as I see it anyways.Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit.Comment
