AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Don't worry. It was a rare event. And it was preventable. If you buy one then let me know and I will tell you how. In hindsight we figured it out. It is as simple as adding one little fuse in line. It was a short that involves the Auxiliary water pump. You really don't even need that pump but it helps bring warm water through the heater when at Idle. But it takes its signal from the Climate Control system. Unfortunately there is no fuse between the two. So if the Aux pump was to fail and it also has to fail by shorting out, the Climate Control circuit boards overhead. Normally does not start a fire though. Just burns out the Climate control. But in this case, it appears to have gotten hot enough before burning itself out to ignite some switch wires that pass above it. So a simple fuse would have prevented it. No one on the Shopforums has ever seen one catch fire. And only a few ever seen one fail and take out the climate control for that matter. I might be the first. There are two possible places this can happen, one being the Climate control and the other being the blower motor. Both can simply be fused very easily. I didn't know that at the time.
I do still have some scooter parts. What you need? I might have it.
