I'll second ricker on Phillip K Dick, he's an amazing writer. Just go pick up pretty much anything by him.
A Scanner Darkly has a pretty good movie out too if you like to watch your book later.

Have you read Dan Brown's non-Langdon books (Deception Point and Digital Fortress)? If not, read them, I enjoyed them thoroughly. Actually think I prefer the themes and tones of those two vs. the tone and religious-ness of A&D and DC.SwallowBleach: It's good for you.

One of my favorite books, but the unabridged version is a little big for vacation, I think. Its been a little while, but what is it, 1,500 pages? It's a beast. (but absolutely worth reading, easily my favorite of all the Dumas books, although the 3M books are good too).Originally posted by behemothComment

I just finished up Deception Point and Digital Fortress this month. Definately liked DF better. DC was good, just not into politics (yes, I know, there werent really any deep politics in the book) The last 60 pages to DP made the book worthwhile.
