What rocks my boat is that Americans were united for the time surrounding 9/11...not so much after that. It's sad but it takes something tragic to unite the nation...why can't we be united without needing a terrorist attack or shooting?
So, seems like BS-

Because 99% of people in this country are sheep who wish for nothing more than a handout to get by, and are willing to side with anyone who promises them such. Few people give a damn about what really matters anymore.
Got to thinking about the band Green Day today oddly enough. I remember well when they went after Bush for the WoT, but I can't seem to remember anything they did/said about 9/11. Funny huh?Comment

There were no flags out that I saw today either. To tell you the truth I hadn't even payed attention to what the date was until vf-xx mentioned it to me. When he did the first thing I did was call my wife and tell her to put our flag out, and went out and bought a flag for the paintball store I work at. As far as Obama, I'm not even going to get in to that, other than he didn't get my vote.
Oh I also want to add, that I certainly won't stop flying my flag, for anyone.Comment

Good old fashioned "respect the office" there.Originally posted by bornl33tHe said that he will not fly the flag as long as Obama is in office.
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.Comment

That is pretty hardcore. Like the flag represents the nation as a whole not one person... I think it is pretty stupid to take it down because one dislikes the president.Originally posted by bornl33tLOL my neighbor took his flag down. He puts it's up occasionally but generally no. He said that he will not fly the flag as long as Obama is in office.

well as I understand it he flew it upsidedown for a few weeks until he got a knock on the door and was told right side up or not at all. Apearantly it's illegal to fly it upsidedown unless your really in distress...?
He may be feeding me a line though,. who knows. I told him if that bothered him so much why not exert his 1st ammendment rights and burn it.....

Well it depends where you live certain states actually maintain those flag laws though not constitutional. He wasn't feeding you a line there are a ton of state statues for the flag...but like I said they aren't constitutional so you can fight them.Originally posted by bornl33twell as I understand it he flew it upsidedown for a few weeks until he got a knock on the door and was told right side up or not at all. And hey maybe some day Beemer won't delete a video for having George Carlin who curses lol, maybe one day people will be able to tolerate words as well, it's not like 7 year olds view these forums and even so, the cited source was cursing but in a constructive way. Sorta like the 7 words you cant say on TV. Carlin used them in a way to prove something, and he was right. Beemer is just proving his point.
I acknowledge you can't post links with swearing but I find it intriguing social commentary since we are talking about the state of things and protest and such. Carlin was right when he came out with the 7 obscene words skit. (that wasn't the video posted). So in todays society a link is bad because it has curse words. If say there were people who clicked a link of George Carlin.
Just find it interesting how people view the human language even when in constructive form.
Not saying the rules are wrong or bad, just find it interesting.
It ties into this whole americana thing. People get uptight don't let children attend certain events or to an extreme people have this bad view on people who protest and share their views. Honestly I disagree with the 911 truthers, but that being said I commend anyone or actively speaking and protesting their mind. I won't deny people the right to do so. I love this country and people and we need to be more united and more carefree so to speak. Actually listen before be call something bad or judge it. I felt bad for all the muslims who were judged and then harassed. Investigate other religions don't judge, any man is welcome into my house no matter the religion or color of his skin, and this is what 911 leaves us with. The only enemy we have is those who challenge our freedom, so let no man stand in her way.
If you would like to view the george carlin video, just search on youtube. It has swearing and cannot be posted here, but do listen to what he is saying. Though judged as a "bad link" it contains very good points. Sometimes the rules even get in the way unfortunately, but I'm glad they are enforced.
