I guess we have divergent opinions on what constitutes fun. I guess I also did not specify that I want the vehicle to have fun (go hunting, fishing, drinking, etc), not to be the fun.bless, support, and never forget the troops

My GM Crew Cab can fit myself, 2 of my brothers & my dad in it very comfortably. All of them are over 6' (I'm not, but they are). There is no knee rubbing or holding hands. If you lay the back seat down it is a few inches short of being the exact size for a single bed (it is plenty wide enough). A single bed blowup mattress fits great in it if you need a place to camp.Originally posted by grEnAlEinsIf I can't fit three or four buddies in it, then it is almost completely unappealing to me.
I am leaning towards the Silverado, but the Tundra and Ram are tied at a not so distant second.
The biggest downside to a crew cab is the length of the total vehicle. We recently took a 8500mi road trip in ours, and parking in larger cities was a pita. Particularly San Francisco, Portland, & Seattle. The locals were not too keen on tourist taking up 2-3 parking spots (the design of their parking lots were geared more toward eco friendly cars than trucks). If you live in the city you may want to think about it. I think my truck is 22' long from the front trailer hitch to the back.Comment

None of those come even remotely close to meeting my basic needs. The Camaro and Challenger were not really heavily in the running due to being two door and a little too small. If I can't fit three or four buddies in it, then it is almost completely unappealing to me.

Gave it a look. I like the looks of it except the console gear selector and price tag. If that were cheaper that might take the cake. Thanks for the suggestion.Originally posted by vf-xxTaurus SHO.bless, support, and never forget the troops

Do you turn your own wrenches?
If so, do yourself a favor, and get a REAL head turner.
Buy a older car, and fix it up. You can work on it in the evenings, and take it out and rip it up on the weekends.
You'll have more fun, and have something that might hold a value, vs drop like a stone the second you drive it off the lot.
Plus, I'd rather work on an old vehicle than a new one any day of the week.Comment

Naturally, one of us would be a DDOriginally posted by ThordicYou might be a redneck if...

No, I don't really know too much about working on cars. I'll also not have any wrenches to turn. I am moving a substantial distance, and the only things coming with me are clothes, guns, ammo, and a table.Originally posted by behemothDo you turn your own wrenches?

I am also not anticipating having enough time for working on a car given the nature of my job (extremely time intensive), and other activities (shooting, hunting, fishing, etc.)
I am thinking if I look used I'll be able to remove a chunk of that depreciation, and I'll call that good enough for now. I'd be open to having an older car that I can work on myself in the future but I don't see that going well for me now.
Thanks for the suggestion though.bless, support, and never forget the troops

many many many "imported" cars are built right here in the USA, hyundai, toyota, honda, subaru, soon VW ... all will have cars that are more american made then ford, chev and dodge. there is no such thng as buying american anymore. and its not just where they are made either. guess where toyotas second largest R&D and design complex is ... detroit."because every vengeful cop with a lesbian daughter, is having a bad day, and looking for someone to blame"Comment
