    Anybody else run track??

Just wondered if anybody else here runs track or run just to stay in shape, what event?
Here's what I really wondered though what shoes do you use for training and what spikes do you wear if you do?

Traning- Asics gel II- They have more forefoot support which feels really good to me and don't have as much forward roll as nike, adidas, and others.

Spikes- Bowerman series Kenedy 2, I believe high quality spikes are the only way to go or you end up with heel bruises and other crap that that could of been avoided by buying a pair of quality spikes.

whoo hoo! pole vault!!! Well, I did it in high school. Everyone on the college team is so full of themselves that I can't stand being around them. I had cheap shoes, and cheap spikes. I would spend most of my 'training' time sleeping on the high jump mats and watching all the hot girls.

i did track my my freshman year. i ran the 400 in about 56 seconds. i didn't think it was that bad for a first year runner. i don't do it anymore because i get mad shin splints runnign on the pavement tracks, which are everywhere here.

Just for the record: I run track, but usually only long enough to catch the real track runners and trip them... Truth is I play soccer, outrunning track guys just for glory is fun.

My school didn't have a track, or pole vault pits. I used to pole vault up onto the stage in the auditorium. I got hurt a lot. I only vaulted for a year, and was 8th in NH.
