I agreed with about 80% of what Speaker Johnson was saying. The rest was bringing the church into the state.
I have no interest in anyone's belief structures. I just want the separation of church and state we were promised, and the freedom to choose our own religion without repercussion or persecution.
I look at mainstream media. I also question what I see. Like this article;
Can you see a discrepancy? Is it a container ship or is it a military vessel? With this quote ~
I come from a Navy family. If this had been an American Military ship, there is no way protesters are climbing aboard, much less chaining themselves to it. And certainly never going to "detain it".Footage on social media showed protesters at the Port of Oakland chanting messages in support of Palestinians and calling for Israel to withdraw from Gaza. Some people were seen climbing onto the container carrier Cape Orlando, while others locked themselves to the ship.
Either the headline lies or the article itself is a lie. Until I have corroborating evidence, I know which side of the fence I'm on. The question is: What do YOU believe?CT Co-ordinator, Paintball MarshalsComment

You have disappointed me... I expected a Hannity rant.
It was a news story. Just sharing you can say it but it doesn't make it so. I am anything but a hypocrite, but you go on thinking what you want, you will anyways. Even when presented with fact, deny deny deny......

I was actually trying to point out that this was the first time I heard a politician admit that the gun can't run off and kill people. It is a heartless America that is doing that.
I agree with you Jim, loved most of what he said but always believe that the separation of church and state should be maintained. I don't really care what anyone believes and ask for the same courtesy.......You know you want one!!Comment

Green for the new dealYou have disappointed me... I expected a Hannity rant. why? Do you need me to tell you that he is pretty much a moron and a nazi?
It was a news story. 1st mistake. Since it was after 7pm, it is not news but opinion. Hannity has stated that he is no journalist and should not be held to those standards. Just sharing you can say it but it doesn't make it so. you share aomething like this because it is what you believe, supports what yoj say or shows your opinion. But that does not hide your hypocrisy, when you have vehemently stated tbat you don't watch mainstream media. I am anything but a hypocrite, but you go on thinking what you want, you will anyways. itruth hurts doesn't it? If you cannot hold what you have stated, don't dismiss anyone who thrn holds the mirror up to you. Even when presented with fact, deny deny deny...... so is this an admission thrn? You are presented with a factual statement that you said, but when confronted you deny it? Just admit that you eat dinner to jesse waters and greg gutfield tucks you in at bedtime. Me personally, I'd rather have Stephanie Ruhle tuck me

I was actually trying to point out that this was the first time I heard a politician admit that the gun can't run off and kill people. It is a heartless America that is doing that. well, most people already know that fact.
I agree with you Jim, loved most of what he said but always believe that the separation of church and state should be maintained. I don't really care what anyone believes and ask for the same courtesy. psst, if you believe that, why do you vote for and support those that wish to take away those rights?Comment

How about some good old fear mongering.
The B61-13 has a yield of 364KT, roughly 24 times the Hiroshima bomb at 15KT.
Oh, my! Time to panic.
Even though it's pointed out that 364KT is nearly identical to B61-7, which has been in the U.S. arsenal since the 1960's, no mention that arsenal (and those of other countries) also contains weapons measured in Megatons which are far more powerful than anything in the Kiloton range.
Just forget about those, this is the one to worry about. The one that starts a nuclear war! Time to panic and start digging those shelters.
During decades of testing, the U.S. set off over 1,000 atomic bombs on U.S. soil, water & air. We've bombed ourselves more than any other Nation.
The largest U.S detonation was Castle Bravo at 15 Megatons (100 times bigger than Hiroshima) and U.S.S.R. tripled that with T'sar Bomba.
The B61-13 is only an upgrade to an older weapon. The U.S. is currently refurbishing old cores into new casings and has been for a while. Just why is this one is such a cause for creating panic?
The size of the B61-13 isn't a problem, it's the decision to use it that scares me. I don't mean just our President ~ it's the others who have access to and more than enough willingness to employ one.
Maybe I should lay odds on which country gets a stiff finger first and pushes the button? Or who is first attacked? At this point there's a half dozen picks for both.
Like there isn't enough to worry about without folks screaming "Doomsday!" every few days.

What a ludicrous post. You are worried NOW? What about the guy that wanted to use a nuclear weapon against a hurricane? What was his name again? It will come to me. It wasn't Obama, it isn't Biden. Dunya wanted to search for them but never found them. So who is it I am thinking of?How about some good old fear mongering.

Anyway. The true fact of that article, which I am surprised had any truth, is that this is a routine upgrade and servicing. As it was stated, including yourself Jym, that the weapons are from the 60s. So they are old and out of date. Cause there are o ly a few thi gs from that decade that are worth caring about. But more importantly, this is not an increase in the number of weapons, nor is it an increase of warheads.
If you read any doctrinal papers on US nuclear weapon deployment, you would know that the US prefers to use smaller yield but more accurate weapon delivery systems, in order to do the most damage to military targets but plausibly spare destructive damage to civilian infrastructure, in a nuclear war. So it's not who has the biggest bomb, more of putting many bombs where they can do the most damage.
So this is really nothing and exactly what you first said, fear mongering. Cause I am not worried about that. I live in 1 of 3 fall out areas(NYC, DC & Philly), so I am caught in the blast or fallout area of 1 if not, all 3.
But what I am more worried about are all the bombs the US government has lost over the years. That is more scary.Comment

Oh,no! Another doomsday prediction to strike fear into the hearts of men.
Six years, folks. If we can't turn around the last 500 years of mankinds impact on the climate within that time ~ We're doomed!
Just more fear mongering. Why do they do this? Most of us are not stupid. One of the smartest I've seen since Jacob Bronowski would be James Burke, who produced a documentary back in 1989 that covers climate change and it's impact on human civilization as well as human impact on climate.
It's a good watch, I suggest it.

Personally, not much, but as a whole society, many.
Abortion rights. For a party that screams they don't want government to tell them what to do, when it comes to a woman and their right to have a medical procedure, you go ape poop over it. But the kicker is this. Not only will you force a woman to carry through a birth, they don't want, you then handcuff them by not providing any assistance afterwards. Basically, life begins at conception but after the birth, not my problem.
Voting. Mail in ballots, ery voting, limiting polling places
Healthcare. Coming from a country that has the biggest airforce in the world, who's navy is the 2nd biggest airforce in world. One would think that general Healthcare would be easy to fix. It is rather simple. Eliminate the cost for Healthcare to all citizens, who then have more money to live off of, which in turn stimulates the economy, because more people can work, instead of being sick.
And, most importantly, I wish to choose the people who I feel are best to run the government and not have someone tell me what I need. Basically, anti-facism.Comment
