N2O2 would be nitrous oxide or nitrogen oxide(either works).

I think your finger slipped and pressed "2" an extra time here. Nitrous oxide is just N2O, not N2O2. I imagine it was an accidental mistake since you got the formula and the stoichiometry in the decomposition reaction correct. Too bad that excuse wouldn't help you in your chemistry class...

NOS does stand for nitrous oxide system. But it's not like a generic nitrous system, it's an actual brand name. It's not like you can call up Nitrous Works and ask for a NOS, they'll probally laugh at you. Kinda like in parts of Texas they call all soda coke. As in:
Waiter: What would you like to drink?
You: A coke.
W: What kind?
