^^^^ Actually most drag cars use nitrous. They use anything they can get their hands on for more power. Top fuelers run around 6,000 horse power.

Also people want it because it is the best bang for your buck horse power increse. Also if you build your engine for it you can use a huge shot. My sisters boyfriend's monte carlo drag car has 550rwhp with a 200 shot. This summer when the motor is finished he's gonna run a 300.

Also if you've ever been in a car with nitrous you'd definatly know why people do it.

Kinda like in parts of Texas they call all soda coke. As in:
hey we do that in Georgia too, and when people come down from up north and ask for a "pop" or a "soda" i stare at them thinking what the hell are you talking about

Also i'm glad i've found people that think the fast and the furious was a horriable movie, most of friends were like "dude that is awsome i'm gonna put NOS in my civic!" "well do you know what NOS is?" "yeah dude it makes your car go fast, i'm gonna leave mine on all the time"

Nitrous is used at all speeds, not just above 4 gear(120mph+). The Fast and the Furious is bull poop! Any real street racer uses a window actuator. When your RPM's go above 3000, the N2O injects auotmaticlly, even in first gear(about 30mph). It will usually keep spraying because when you shift into 2nd and 3rd your RPM's hardly drop below 3k. Once it kicks in, it will feel like a big push. But you can actuate it at high speed though, if you wanted to...for highway races

when i said that i was just tryin to show how stupid people can be because thats what people at my school tend to think. they seem to think that it's just a button you press that makes your car go fast, when i try to tell them what it really is they stare at me like i'm talkin some foreign language

i wonder how many accidents that movie caused?

lol i can just see people doin this ----> "ok so i just pour this stuff in my gas tank instead of gasoline right?" "yeah man your gonna go soooooo fast"

You can also use a throttle position sensor, fuel pressure sensor, and maifold presure senesor. This is a used with a full nitrous control box. Basically you dial in the full shot and when you want it to be at that amount (150 shot at 1/8 mile). Then put in how much you want at launch (50 shot at the line). You then in put the sensor parmiters (full throttle at 30 lbs of fuel etc.) You then pull up and launch. When your car hit's those paremeters the 50 shot starts then gradually increases until it's the full 150 shot.

                  Expensive but worht every penny.
