Hmmm... Don't even bother with asking this. No problems, you're both people and that's all that matters unless your parents are traditional, aka: They only allow asian girlfriends. It doesn't really matter if you can tell if she likes you now. Once you get to know each other better and open up even more you'll know. Just make sure you take a hint... I mean, if you REALLY doesn't like you... get my point?

lol... Sweep her off her feet? Do something that she likes but wouldn't expect from you, that ought to work. lol

I really don't know why you brought up the racial thing... People these days aren't really racist. Well, we know there are acceptions but the general public isn't racist.

First off ... congrats on finding someone that you enjoy spending time with and one who enjoys time with you. That is something that even in this day and age can be next to impossible to do.
Second, this is a question that is in no doubt going to degrade into something that it shouldnt. One of the downsides to public forums, especially those on the internet, is that they are just that public. People can hide behind text and not be afraid to say things that they may have held back had you talked to them face to face. I think that while your intentions are good, that someone is going to turn this thread into something bad.

What really matters is, are you happy ... is she happy? One thing I have learned in my limited time on Earth is that you should take things one day at a time ... if you are thinking all the time if you are going to mess things up, you will. Obviously if you have made it to a first date then she doesnt have a race issue. So enjoy your time.

The only thing that matters is that you're two people that enjoy each others' company.

As for telling whether she likes you or not, I'm afraid it's hard to say from one episode. We're going to need more data to make an accurate assessment.

And you want foot-sweeping ideas? Tell us how old the both of you are; what may be cute/romantic for a high schooler may be cheesy/annoying for a college girl.

Props to all of ou for being so cool with this. Butter, I say go with it. and try to make the best of what could be a beautiful thing. I've been in an interracial relationship, and it worked out great. The only reason her and I broke up was because of school. She was transferign to a college in CA, and I was staying in Detroit. The time we had was great. Sure there were a few odd looks here and there, but we just chalked it up to people being closed minded about these types of issues.

Thanks for the votes of confidence. We are in college. Right now at the very least I know we are friends so thats good. I would like it to develop into somthing more though. She is absolutely an amazing girl, like nobody iv'e met before.

You guys are great. The reason I posted it on this forum is beacuse I know I can expect a large degree of mature answers from the users. Eventhough this is a paintball forum I beleive relationships are somthing that alot of us have some sort of expereince in.

Completely unexperience but I have been giving out good advice since 7th grade... amazing... but I usually don't follow my own advice... lol

i find that if you're asian and you don't have an accent people tend to ignore your race. i'm chinese and i have no problems with anybody of any race. actually many times i find the opposite is true. people like me better because i'm chinese. it's weird when my parents try to tell me to be careful and watch out for rascist people. i'm lucky enough to have encountered very few people who are rascist against asians. i say go for it. i certainly don't pay attention to those sort of racial barriers. black, white, brown, yellow, purple, blue you're into her and she likes you then nothing else matters.

I never look at is as a race issue. I've been out with all sorts. Blondes, Red heads, Eastern European, Black, Italian, Hawaiian, Vietmanese... I have yet to date someone who was 'my race' whatever that may be. I don't even know. :)

They're all women for all I'm concerned... I'd leave it at that. :)

Ok so you're both in college - let's see...

Movies tend to be sorta anti-social, so no to that.

Food! Food is good at any age. Take her out someplace of your choosing, someplace that you know is good and would like to share with her. Extra points if she hasn't been there before and it's ethnic and/or a little exotic.

Museums are cool. Shows her you have an intellectual side. Doesn't matter if it's a childrens' museum, art museum, or science museum. It lets you get an idea of what sort of stuff she's interested in and can promote some stimulating conversation. Mad props if she's a Monet fan and you take her to a waterlilies exhibition.

Outdoorsy stuff can be awesome or terrible, depending on whether she's the outdoorsy type or not. Hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, whatever - just make sure it's something she would like. And always check the weather.
So there's a few ideas to start with. I would hold off on taking her paintballing until you get a REALLY good idea of whether she would enjoy that sort of thing. If she does, then I insist that you bring her on AO and we get to meet her.

"Man, I tell you, _insert name of girl here_, I was playing paintball with Butter last month, and he made this unbelievable move! Took out the entire team! And then the next game I broke my ankle, and Butter carried me off the field - while the other team was still firing! And later that same day, there was this pregnant lady at the field who started having contractions..."
