Fastest 2002 car for under $30,000?

I'm planning on buying a 2002 car this 4th of July and am looking at the Camero z28 with the 310hp V8. Anyone know of a faster stock 2002 car for under $30,000?

Trans Am Coupe w/ Ram Air has im not sure on the spacifics. But it is like $32,000. w/o ram air is is like $28,000 and the specs are the same as the camero z28.

Subaru WRX. Not the fastest, but as fast as a Mustang GT and you will have change left for goodies with 30 grand. But I'm a Trans-Am fan so that gets my vote. Make sure to get the WS-6 package.

Wait for Dodge's new high performance truck to come out. They made it to compete with the ford lightning but I think it will blow it away, it's suppose to have something like 500hp stock and sitting on 20s with nice low profile tires. Not sure how much they cost though. Or get a ford lightning very nice, but not sure how much they cost either.

my friends accura RSX can haul some *** and its well under 30

Toyota Matrix. I know, I know, but it is FAST. Get the manual transmission, and you can get it pretty loaded for about $27,000. The dealership said that the only other car w/more horsepower is the Lambrighini Diablo. Doubtful, this kid at my school has one of those, and that thinkg is fast. But so is the toyota matrix. Ither that (matrix) or a subaru WRX, thats what I would get.

There should be no more comparison if you are looking for speed.

Thanks for the input guys. Still thinking about what to get but the camero ss is on the top of my list followed by the trans am.

yeah I'd definitely try for an LS1... camero's are about as fast as stock gets for the money.

I'd go with quick, but not fast. The biggest engine you can get as an option is 180 hp. Nowhere near a real sports car.

yea. i have a transam. they rock and i bet they can out run a vette. my trans am has the LT1 motor in it. (which is they same as a vette)
