    Waterfest 2002 LOTS OF PICS!!!

Well for those that don't know, Waterfest is a huge VW/Audi car show that happens once a year. I've gone to the last two years, and this one has been by far the biggest. It was at Englishtown Raceway Park in Old Bridge Twp. New Jersey. There were thousands of gorgeous VW's and Audi's there, and it was a pretty fun time. Watched lots of drag races and autocrosses too. Well, here are some of the pics I got, my batteries went dead so I dident get the chance to get every hot car there, but here are some.

This was just one sexy S2000. What can I say. Looked like he had some serious hardware inside too, so it wasent all just for show.

This was VW's Rally Car, I forget what class though, wasent the one thats on TV. It's a Turbo Disel thats powered by some experimental fuel made from Soy Beans!!! Pretty cool!! The driver said it made over 220hp too!! He had a sticker on the back that said "Chased a TDI lately?"

This was a project car done between 1552Designs and VWVortex.com. They took a jetta and chopped off the back, took a Golf and chopped off the back, took the front end from the Jetta and put it on the Golf, and essentially made a Jetta Coupe!!! Wicked car. They are putting an APR Stage III kit in to get over 290hp and 310ft lbs of torque from the Turbo 4cyl.

    Here is a 9 second 1/4 drag Turbo 4cyl.!!!

Now for some shots of nice cars:

Too flashy for my tastes but it wasent all show, it was modded like you wouldnt believe.

And last, a shot of just part of the car show.

Cool pics. That S2000 looks good, but why does it have my mom's ironing board on the back of it. Other than that it's sweet.

I know a few people from Eurospeed in Portland, Maine that headed down to Waterfest...

One has a mint blue 98 Jetta VR6, ECU, Neuspeed Exhaust, Neuspeed Cams, H&R springs, MkIV Headlight conversion, and 17" BBS wheels... a very, very nice car.

To the rice comment... VW/Audi is FAR from rice!

Do I spy some Mille Miglias?

You call that an intercooler??? Check out my buddy's 88' CRX drag car

We took the intercooler off of a Peterbuilt 18 wheeler and cut down to about a 1/3 of it's original size. Right now he's pushing 20lbs of boost, and runs a 9.8 in the 1/4. The car has been stripped [of course].

The only gauge you need in this particular honda.

If you're wondering (gotenks) his mods/specs are as follows:

              1.6L 130hp SOHC ZC
              B18 Integra LS Rods
              Forged Aluminum Pistons
              Ported and Polished Heads
              DC Sports Turbo Manifold
              Turbonetics T60-1 Hifi Turbocharger
Peterbuilt Intercooler with Custom End Tanks
Custom Mandrel (home brew) Exhaust Piping
              Honda Accord Spindles
              Honda CRV Axles
              Accel DFI

                  AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

HOW COULD THEY PUT A VEILSIDE BODY KIT ON A S2000?!?!!?!?!?!

Anyways cool pics. Except the first 2 s2000 ones, the front bumper of that kit is ok, but stock is better, and the rear bumper is just a disgrace, I don't know if you agree with me.

well, considering the project went down here

and I did a majority of the welding with my handy dandy MiG, I think we did ok.

                            heh

if your friend ever gets the cash, he should look into a apex or xs engineering aftercooler, that aftercooler looks like it has no flow, and the end tanks are puny, it looks like the turbo is trying to blow air through a coffee stirring straw.

The reason I say aftercooler, is caused I learned some new stuff at overboost.com today.

Intercooler is the wrong term, its the term used for twin charged cars, inter means "between" and a while back some people had 2 chargers on their cars, could of been 2 superchargers, 2 turbos, or turbo/super combo, and "intercoolers" were put in between the 2 chargers, and a 2nd one afterwards, the "aftercooler"

overboost had tons of stuff like that, misused terms in the auto world, you should check it out sometime.

we've got some more tuning to do. The reason we used that particular "aftercooler" is simply because we were able to buy it from a truck junk yard for $50. This is a BUDGET project. All in all, we have somewhere around 5k invested, probably less if you count all of the CRX parts we sold on ebay. The next step would be a GS-R motor; once we get the cash.
