Hey so what positions do all the hockey players play and how long have you been playing?
Anyway, I've been trying to switch my shooting style. For some reason I've started shooting flat footed, well last game anyway. Anyone have any good drills on correct shooting styles, mostly slap shots. My wrister still seems to be ok.
Help guys, we have a few rookies on the team this year so they want me to take the shot instead of set-up and dish!

I've been playing for like 6-7 years and play as a left wing/center. As for your shooting style, I had a similar problem which I solved by just getting out on the ice and working towards making the shot that I wanted more fluid and precise, even without a stick or puck, like a visualization while practicing following through with your feet. That might sound confusing but its not really.OSK

yeah, looking at the shots I took now, it looks like I'm rushing my shot. I'm waiting too long before starting the shot, then rushing then end of it.Originally posted by SyntaxError

Fixing that should fix it.
Hmmm just got word our team is switching to roller-hockey.
Good news: Team fees dropped from $5000 per team to $1200 and a sponser is picking up half of it.
Bad news: Need roller blades.Comment

Eh gonna pick up a pair of CCMs I think. I broke my ankle playing hockey two seasons ago so it's still pretty touchy. With CCMs I can take the boot off, heat it up and mold it to my foot and ankle brace. Should work well. Thanks though!Originally posted by obsolete898

I will most likely try to hit my local skatepark again. With work having me work on weekends, and our project ending in the fall, I haven't had the chance to ride my bike as much. So hopefully once everything settles down and I find more time, I'll see if I can do another face plant off the top of the 11 foot vert ramp that they had. That was a fun experience! I didnt see anyone else mention it but Im gona try to play waterpolo while Im in college at Colorado State University. I say try because its a club team and I've never even saw a waterpolo game before. I should be fun though. There was a meeting last week and I got there a little late. Anyways I walk in and the school athlectic directors is in there reminding the captin and team that were representing CSU so we have to behave. Then the captin says "well at least the cops werent involed last year, almost were but they didnt get called" and he seemed proud of the fact. I started thinking what am I getting my self into? It turns out that not geting the cops called is good considering that two years ago one of the players was arrested on a felony charge. I turns out that the road trips can get pretty wild. The older members wont even tell us rookies what happened so we dont get ideas. I cant wait till our first road trip.Comment
