No wonder youth resent most adults, from idiotic responses like that. smilies or no smilies that was uncalled for and you should apologize to that young man.
Who are you talking to? I know that I for one said nothing that would require even a hint of apologizing for.

ide definitly try and figure out who called ur parents..but i wouldnt take it out, thats for sure...

on the subject of rebellion...next friday is dress code violation day(named by me,about 5seconds ago)....everyone in the whole school is gonna break the dress code violation...ok,not the WHOLE school..but all the punks, and others of the same crowd...

we have a room called IC(intervention center),where you go if you get in trouble, are late to class,or break a rule or whatever(such as dress code)...we figure they cant fit us ALL in there...and its gonna be fun...

      rebellion..yay!

Ok gotta chime in. Throughout college I would probably have been thrown in the "different looking" catagory. I had dreadlocks past my shoulders, earings, nipple pierced and my hair alternated between white, blond, and red.

Now, that in mind, most of my professors accepted me AFTER they A) got to know me and B) saw my scholastic performance.

However, I graduated with a degree in math and finance/economics. Ever walk into an interview with the VP of Anderson Consulting looking like that? A place that you can get a correctional memo if you wear a suit that isn't dark blue? Doesn't go over that well. I can tell you right now that 80% of all financial consultants don't know much more about the stock market then anyone else. It's image projection. Societies image of leadership, power, education, and intelligence is clean cut. So, I cut my dreads off, went back to my natural blonde, and took the earings out. Got many more job offers upon walking in the door.

I'm not saying that having an alternative look will preclude success, but it won't make it easier (in certain fields anyway). Kinda like a quadraplegic swimming the english channel. Not impossible, but it's not going to be quite as easy as it could be.
It's HERE! Play at Shooter's Casino!!!!!! It'll be fun........

Well... I'm pretty sure its a rule that you can't wear anything in school that is offensive.. why peircings offend people is beond me? I guesse some people are just freaks! The thing that would piss me off the most if I was in your situation is the fact that you don't know who has a problem with it.

If all else fails.. look on the bright side, you will be out of school soon.. and once your final grades come in, goto you school and do a little drive by with your paintball gun

P.S. that last thing about the drive by... you didn't hear it from me!

if i made some one mad by calling them narrow minded, im sorry, but i think its really sad that society can not except some things and think its wrong, and then tell you you cant succed in life do to a body modification, (im talkking piercings, tatoos, scarification, all that stuff). it really is a form of racism when you really look at it, because you dont look like the other 10,000 people you are a "freak".

im trying to handle this situation as an adult, but I dont know if I will get anywhere, i hope the teacher/teachers who called my parents would look at my grades, I am in the TOP 5 of my class and have been for 7 years.

For those who want to know, here is my job history (with piercings in)
Kroger, front cleark, bagging and cash register, VERY PEOPLE ORRIENTED

Doing the books for businesses (not family owned businesses)

That right there is an attitude that this sport DOESNT need. That is the reason paintballers get a bad rap... because kids go around shooting up property, people, and animals.

I understand that you had a rolleyes icon, but that still should not have been said and I felt that I needed to say that. Goodday.

grrr... I'm not going to go nutz, I'm NOT going to go nutz!

Tuna you are a respected guy here, I for one know you're opinion on piercings and respect that, it's not everyones cup o tea. But please, if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all. I don't mean to flame you. I myself had a long time going before i learned this lesson. I Respect you're opinion, but the thread itself is to help find a civil solution to Blade's problem, not a poll to see who likes it and who doesn't.

And back to the problem, Piercings it jewlry. Plain and simple. In our world now a day it's not individualism anymore. It's the same as when a girl wears a necklace. I Think blade is definatly being discriminated against as a minority. I would talk to the principle of you're school and find out what he thinks about it. If he says it's you're choise to wear body jewelry or not, then put it back in and when a ruccus comes up, tell whoever to talk to the principle about it. Of course this would be the optimal solution. If the principle doesn't agree with it, then there's other authoritis you'll have to look towards. But the fact that someone calls you're parents about YOU and you aren't alowed to find out who it is shows one of 2 things. 1.) You get excited easy, and they are trying t oprotect you from doing something stoopid ( i can't imagine after all you're posts in this thread) 2.) Theres a chicken teacher in you're school that needs to grow some balls and be as mature about it as you are being.

We all live in this world together, if we don't learn to compromise we are just going to all end up bitter.
I too am into body mods. I admire ppl on the road all hte time and give them compliments, mostly because my professional life demands a more universally exeptable apearance and so I'm very limited on that sorta stuff. I know in HS school is you're life, but if you can find out who the teacher is, you can maybe just take it out for her/his class. And compliment whoever it is on their nice "finger ring"

oh yeah and Shart, man you play with my mind more then anyone I've ever seen. Not in a bad way, but usually I'm not impressed with some of you're posts, mostly because I don't agree with your opinions ( but I've learned right? Not to say anything If I can't say something nice ) But I know you aren't for piercings and yet you take a very neutral standpoint and offer honest help to Blade... that's a BIG BIG BIG score to me....I think I'm gonna hafta bookmark this thread for next time I get really pissy to remind me how cool you are

I think he school is correct in what it did. I believe there should be rules in schools on how kids should dress and look. I would actually vote for school uniforms (12 years catholic school drilled into my head. I know everyone is going to snap at me, but in this country we can all have an opinion. However, everyone in today's society cries individualism, freedom of speech, I am my own person, I should be allowed to do what every I want, etc.....

However, when do we draw the line when democracy becomes anarchy? When do people end up with to much freedom that it starts spiraling out of control? I am probably ranting due to other things that have been going on in the media, etc.... But this is a subject I have been thinking about and have had no place to talk about it. They same image is everything, and it is true. I will immediately judge a person by there looks, its human nature.

I am 32 yrs old and I laugh at all the 16 years old walking thru the malls dressed as gang bangers, acting all tough and everything. They may be the nicest people in the world, but I do not know them, so I have to go by the information I see. I am sorry to say that on another note, children have stopped being children. I see younger and younger kids dating, drinking, pregnant, etc... Not a very good site in my mind.

It is funny how everyone cries individualism, but yet every kid I see dresses the same, smokes, etc..to be in the in-crowd.

I have also realized that at as a teenager individualism is the greatest thing in the world. Then you turn 32, have a wife, pay a mortgage and realize that 40% of your salary goes to taxes. Then you become a republican. And I do work for one of the big accounting firms, and I can tell you I am yet to see anyone with a nose piercing, tongue piercing yes, but visual body pierces no.

well i think i am not being told who it is, is because, my parents know how stongly i will defend something that means a lot to me, but , BUT i dont think they know that I dont plan on causing a big problem at school, like i have said many a times in this thread, i plan on acting like an adult with administration at school to get this matter settled, so I can have a great senior year.

Heat I really liked your post...

Farlow, i would agree with what you said, BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, i go to public school, where religin is a sin to speak about, i do firmly beleive in dress codes, but uniforms should not be the sollution, i think when a school goes to uniforms,it creates a prision type environment, sorry if you disagree, but I do enjoy going to school, and being told how to look/dress is just not right in a public school. my school is out in the sticks of the county, i choose to go to this school due to the fact the teacher to student ratio is very small like 1 teach for every 4 students, it takes me 20 mins to drive to school, i spend 40 mins travling to and fro.

the children not being children thing you said, i totally agree with you, but I think that has something to do with the parents, what kind of morals the guide their children by. and yeah its sad when you see a 15 year old with a kid.

I want to thank you guys for the support you have offered in your post, just keep em coming!
