first i need to start off by sayin the i am a survivor of a catholic school... nuns and all... uniforms were light blue shirt, dark blue pants, tie (could not be a clip on), dress shoes (no sneakers or boots)....

the girls all had these plaid jumper dresses that had to go down past the knee in a sitting posistion, white blouse, dress shoes and if they had long hair it had to be tied back/up

needless to say.. myself and most of the other kids hated it (k-8)

these dayz, having to wear that when i was younger, at my job the shirt/pants i'm supposed to wear look to much like what i had to wear in school... of course now though i refuse to wear the pants at work... jeans only for me, i kept finding ways to bust the zipper or rip the pants and they gave up finally..... as for the shirt i never tuck mine in or have it buttoned up more then 2-3 buttons, except when one of the customers for the factory comes in for a visit...

my view overall on this... they suck... though it has its place if there is a problem it can help though it may only help a small amount... if there was no problem then it doesn't help at all

          have u heard of...happy workers?

would u do more work while your comfortable, wearing what you want,or in some dress coded up tie,and pants?

happy workers work harder than the ones who arent comfortable in what they are wearing...its a scientific fact, there is no proof, but its a fact.

After further consideration I'm not going to argue this point. This will not go any where, some people are just stuck or still in the teenager rebelious stage.

I wouldn't mind uniforms actually. My school's dress code is that you must wear collared, buttoned shirts that need to be tucked in. We are not allowed to wear jeans, clothes with large logos, cargos, flannel pants, sweat pants, or even carpenter pants. Pretty much we must wear dockers type pants. We do have dress down days every now and then when we can wear pretty much what we desire. I don't mind the dress code. I went to public school for 8 years and still to this day the people that were all black and have weird hair scare the crap out of me.

Paintballrulz: What you have is almost worse than alot of uniforms, pretty much the only thing they don't tell you is what color to wear. And sorry if I scare you . I realy liked to wear black jeans and black shirt and black sweatshirt, and I'd have my hair dyed blue if I could

The only reason that teachers and parents want everyone to dress, "nice" is because they want us to look old like them, they can't stand that we want to dress differently than they did/are. How is wearing a suit and tie going to make you looking professional? Who gets to choose what looks professional, or looks nice? Just because someone is wearing a suit and tie, we are suppose to automaticly assume that they are high class
You smell like dookie... No really though.

I dont like uniforms the only plus to them is that kids wont get made fun of for what their wearing..and you dont have to go out and always buying new clothes 4 times a year

Ya our dress code is pretty close to a uniform. Only some people that wear all black scare the crap out of me. Our whole school is labeled as preps because of the dress code. Which most of us turned into preps because it is a lot cheaper to wear the clothes you were to school on dates and stuff rather than buy a whole new wardrobe. We are not allowed to wear shorts until they tell us we can which is usually after april vacation. I think they tried making us wear them for the same reason as uniforms so kids didn't get made fun of, but in actuallity people ended up getting ragged on more because of brands like abercrombie that they did/didn't wear.

I went to a Catholic Skool for my entire highschool sentence, and i must say i loved those kilts! They were a godsend. We had dress down days every now and then to show off your own digs though so it wasn't all that bad. Kinda made it special wearing your own clothes to school. The only thing i didn't like was the quality of the uniforms. They fell apart pretty quick and you were stuck paying cutthroat prices, and you had to get them from their supplier.

I had alot of fun twisting the dress code and harrassing the faculty about it. It got me out of class alot.
