I love A10's,f14,P51's, and ofcourse the one and only... P38! A10s are amasing cause of the fact its got that much fire power and can take almost as much as it dishes out... almost... look at that gun... but P51s were one of the major players in the european air war... range of a bomber, faster than a BF109, better than a BF109, and in a dive could out run a Messershmit 262 Jet fighter!

ofcourse ther are always the spitfires ,A6m Zeke/Zeros, and Ju87 Stukas if i ever do get my pilot license im saving up and getting one of these old ww2 war birds...

Start saving up now. A few years back (like 15) my stepdad helped someone he knew pick up a carborator for the Corsair the guy was rebuilding. It cost almost $30,000.

hmmm, well if your going to argue planes that arent in full service then.... i will disagree with you, asn say the YF 23 black widow is the sexiest, stealthiest plane alive. But if were talking multi role fighters, in combat now, completing full missions, and in full production, i will stand by my proclaiming of the F18

another interesting side note, the f14 ejects approx 5000 rounds while revving the gun up to speed. Also, you are lucky to get 2 squezes to 3 before your out. Thank you Cpt Terry Ward, naval officer RET. Now a delta piolot! (also my cousin)

I won't argue the stealthiest, or sexiest, because one is classified (my guess would be the B-2) and the other is personal opinion.

As for the best multi-role fighter, in service now, my vote would be the F-15E. I think it beats the Hornet in all catagories. The Hornet does have the advantage of being carrier based, so they are "on the scene" a lot faster.

You might want to check your cousins facts. The F-14 (as well as 4,15,16,18,104, and possibly the 22) has an M-61 20mm on board. They don't eject the shells, they feed the empties back into the ammo drum. How many squeezes you get are dependant on rate of fire (I think its has 2 speeds) and ammo drum capacity.

Lol. If we're going there I'd have to go with a VF-19 hehe.

But seriously the AFTI F-16 could shoot down any other fighter period. That and it could nail things on the ground no sweat. Then again it was an experimental platform soooo.

As for multi role fighter I'd have to go with the F-14. With a full load of phenox missles it's an air to air nightmare (for the enemy). And it's not too shabby on the ground targets either.

No need to apologize, I just wanted to make sure everyone didn't get bad info. Thats how things start. Next thing you know, you get "the F-15 shoots farther and has a flatter trajectory than the F-18".

well uh they could... i mean planes have real fire arms so they could shoot further tan each other... but as for those two i believe they both have the same cannon so its ok... i think they have the vulcan? plus those cool missles like the pheonix ( SP) missles on f14's... something like 300 mile range. they can shoot you down before they are even on your radar
