Yes, deffinitely try to find a mesa boogie. There are so freekin nice. The marshals are way over priced. Vox are nice too.

As for a starter guitar, i find fenders to play easier as a beginner. Personally, i would reccomend the epiphone G400. plays really nice, and plays alot like my gibson SG.

For petals, to get good bang for your buck, and to get more for your money, look in to the danelectros. they have good effects, nice sound, and are at a good price. Also, if you want a flanger, look into an MXR phase 90. And for wahs, i like the jim dunlop cry baby, but thats just me.

If you ever want a practice amp, do not hesitate to buy a pignose. Great little amp! Tire me By rage was recorded on a pig nose!

Depends what model, but it sounds like a good price. My first Epi was $350 new, so that sounds about right.

HOWEVER, before you buy it play it. It doesnt matter what type of guitar you have if its uncomfortable to play. Also look at the neck, make sure the electronics work, etc.

        good luck man

what is a good guitar for my 1st electric? I've been playing a regular ol' acoustic for a few months now, and am thinking about going electro... from what I've heard, Fender (not squier) strats and Epiphone Les Pauls are pretty good for not too much money... what do you think?

washburns are awsome and only like $120-$200
