Yeah, I don't know. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. I kinda figured he play the senior calming captain and holik would step up to the instigation/firey influence. Either way it's shaping up to be a great season as a whole!

Gotta go with the Avs, but I'm concerned about their blueline. Really concernced. We have the best 1-2 centers in the league though.

And the Best goalie(s) in the game. I think it was a stupid thing that Avs dont pick up free agent.

Chelios is by far the dirtiest(SP?) player in the league, and even probably in the world. Remember in the olympics when he kept hitting a guy in the back with his stick? he even argued with the call!!! Team USA was by far over rated during the olympics. Everyone knew it was going to be Canada all the way.

Well, as long as hartley can resist the temptation to shorten the defensive bench to 4 or 5 people we should be ok. Blake, Foote and deVries are a lock. Skoula will have to start watching his positioning in relation to our goalie, but he'll probably be the number 4 defenseman. Muir played a lot more in the postseason last year so figure he'll probably start as #5 and we picked up pitnik who'll probably be paired with muir to offset muir's wandering tendancies.

Yeah, the avs tend to shy away from the open market though. And remember that we'll have forsberg again, arguably the best all around player in the world, and we did pick up pitnik. Nederost (top ten worldwide NHL prospect) and vrbata will be integrated into the forward lines as well. oh and we'll have keane for the whole season!

And just to gloat for a second: last night I scored the game tying goal in my hockey game on a highlight reel pocket-pick to a breakaway!

The reasin they dont pick up free agents is because Pier Lacrox,(BIG spelling error)the avs GM, doesnt believe in picking up free agents. But as long as they have o'll Forberg(My favorite player ) They'll be good to go. The one move I didn't like is them getting rid of D. Kasper(I'm not going to try and spell his name) Having him on the second line of Defence was a pretty good move.

Mabey the Red Wings, but not the Avs. There going to have a season like 2000-2001(lost only like 11 games the whole season). I just hope Roy is not distracted by Game 7 last year against Wings.

awww keep hating. Actually the only teams I REALLY don't want to see win EVER are like the florida panthers, any team from california, etc. Basically any warm weather team. That's just wrong. Beyond that I think the teams should be penalized if they can't keep the rinks cold enough to get halfway decent ice!

Richter is still a Top 10 Goalie, the only reason his stats have been suffering is because of a total lack of defensive responsibility and accountability on the team. Not to mention he is the BEST pressure goalie in the game. Why do you think he was the Olympic goalie? Because when the pressure is on (Olympics, playoffs, etc) he gets BETTER instead of falling apart.

Blackburn is probably the best goalie to come along in a decade. He did better as an 18 year old rookie than some STARTING NHL goalies. With another few years to learn under Richter, playing 30-35 games a season, he'll be the Rangers #1 goalie for the next 10 years, at least.

The reason people hate the Avs is because they are a "new" successful team. People don't mind it when Detroit wins, because they are an "old school" hockey team from a hockey town.

Gotta agree with you about richter. he's gotten a bad rap because he has NO defensive support. But watch those olympic tapes again. He held that team in the tournament.

Eh, the Nordiques were around for some time, but yeah, I see your point. The nordiques/avs got most of their good players by trading lindros back in the day.

I do appreciate you calling detroit A hockey town, instead of hockeytown. That makes me want choke people.
