    ah yes.... good stuff.

It gets irritating, because I wear a honda badge on my back-pack to school.

So all these riceboys, collective racing, apc racing, whatever gay crew it is always rev their engines when I'm leaving school and "ricer fly by" me. It gets kind of annoying, some cars I know I would lose too, probably 2, and the rest are just crap.

I have seen the crap these guys "tune" their cars with. $20 cherry bombs. "Dragon-R" (lol) intakes.

RIIGGHHTTT...... anyways.... I'm $200 shy of my turbo project.... my goal is 200-240 WHEEL horsepower.... with good driving, that would be 13.4-14 second quarter miles.

Once the turbo non-VTEC is up and running.... well, the next damn ricer fly by I get I'm gunnin it and leaving them in my dust.

          Its not just the kids...

I was getting switchting freeways behind one of the new Lexus SC 430s. Its a slight uphill off/on ramp. The person driving (never did see them) was merging at about 50, which is a PITA for everyone behind them, me included.

I managed to get on and may have annoyed them with my rush to get out from behind them. I made it over to the fast lane and was cruising along at about 75. Not a lot of traffic, just keeping pace. I look in my rear view and the Lexus is right on my tail. I simply stepped a bit harder and they were left standing, looked down and was doing 90, so I backed off. I expected them to come rushing back up. But they kept their distance. Maybe the idea of getting left by an '87 Ford T-bird bruised that expensive ego. Just past 200K the other day...

I see those cars all the time in my part of NJ, but I like to have fun with them from time to time. Almost the same story, but they were just a little in front of me in a saturn with a giant wing and stickers everywhere.
He takes off engine screaming, car rocking back and forth when shifting gears, and not really getting anywhere fast. Me, big white 2000 impala (all stock I don't want a sporty impala) pull up behind him and all of a sudden he moves to the right lane and drops to the speed limit and drives like a normal person intill I turn.
I have to admit I love owning the same type of car the police are starting to use, nobody tailgates, cuts me off, or stays in front of me for to long on the highway.

Not as fun sounding as shartleys story, but was fun to me.

I think a lot of people doing the rice racer gig really don't know much about cars. Although of course there are those who do... but not as common.

I saw some dude that put stickers on his Saturn: Saturn Performance Racing... or something like that. I asked him what he did to his car, he said he just put stickers on it. I couldn't help but chuckle.

He always acts like he's racing or something. His GF beat him in this old 80's Toyota... she laughed and called him stupid and made fun of his sticker.

                  Shartley,

Its possible they weren't paying attention. I just found it odd they wanted to ride my bumper as opposed to going around, since there was plenty of opportunity.

Perhaps they suffered from the same "problem" that inflicts my wife. For some reason there could be 4 wide open lanes and she will find the one poor guy on the road and proceed to tailgate...

I just like looking at the little ricer sports cars going by, but taking enough time to slow down and figure out what the major humming noise is coming from. (I run Mud Terrain tires on my truck, so you can hear me before you see me.)

I just love the little lowered cars that have trouble getting into their driveways and over speedbumps. Sorry, but no, give me 12" clearance ANY day. (I like fast cars don't get me wrong, but don't do stupid stuff to it)

LOL. Where can I start. I know exactly those kind of people that are all into fixing up their cars and stuff like that, but to each their own.

I have a friend that is so much into debt and can't even afford to get a car right now always talking smack about cars and stuff. He's always talking about how his car is gonna kick our car's asses when he doesn't even got one yet. Always saying that he's gonna get headers this, and flowmaster that, awesome sound system, blah, blah, blah... Also, when he refers as his "Viper" being the awesomest and fastest (with such conviction too), he's talking about the one on Gran Turismo 3 for the PS2. It's really funny hearing that kind of stuff.

Also, in a 'Fast and the Furious' type moment, I've seen big time rice burners mess up bad. It's really funny to see the look on those peoples faces while I'm thinking that most probably that kid got all that stuff on daddy's dime and how much money has gone down the drain. And for what, to be like strutting Peacock's to see who has bigger feathers.

Kids nowadays think that they are above it all (even though I am only 21) and have little to no respect toward people. I was taught to respect everyone, no matter who it is, and I think it is lacking in this generation of teenage kids.

Don't get me wrong, I like fast cars just about as much as most of the other guys here, but there comes a point when you should think to yourself "is it really worth it"

P.S. Sorry if it sounded preechy, I had a bad day today.

Best story of a rice rocket ever: I was at the movie theater with my friends and we're walking to the theater from the parking lot. A nice lowered rocket comes to the speed bump, the car slows down and he realizes he can't get over the bump. He stops and the passenger side door opens and his hot chick gets out of the car, waits until he clears the speed bump then gets back in. My friends and I were rolling on the ground laughing at that incident.

Just goes to show you there is nothing like good 'ol Detroit Iron!!

It harkens me back to my dream car days, 350 LT1, 4 bolt mains, punched 30 over with a roller cam. 10 to 1 pistons and an Edelbrock manifold sucking wind through a double pumper Holley carb and 2.02 heads! Rockcrusher 4 spd trans with a Hurst inline competion shifter dumping the horses through 4.11 gears and a posi rear end. Traction bars peaking out from behind 11" wide rear tires showed that you were a player!! Man I wanted that soooo bad....problem was I never did get it...

Today most people don't even know what that stuff is! LOL
