yeah, I just saw NGE yesterday I got the same reaction. Really confusing I hd to ask my friend like 100 times Ok, What happened? But that wouldn't make me stop watching anime. There are plenty of classics that aren't as hard to follow as NGE.

Akira is nuts because it ends in the middle... the manga goes on for another ton of episodes.

FYI, Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex series started playing in Japan on Oct 9th. I have the first two episodes subtitled

someone wanna explain what the HECK I saw in Akira? I mean, WTF was with that kid, and he was growing into some messed up baby thingie... and the "little people"... WTF were they?

and WTF is AKIRA? some kid? Why did he start to blow up?

Goto your local Comic Book store and pick up the manga in Trade Paperback form ...

Akira is quite easy to understand, as long as you have read the entire series. The movie only goes to like issue 15-16 I think ... and the comic continued on much longer.

I am anime fan, strangely enough I have found myself glued to the tv everyday watching cartoon network and dragonball z.

It is like daytime soap

OMG, I cannot stand to watch DragonBall on Television... The comics are much better because you don't have to sit thru hours of grunting and "WOW, He's Strong!" Conversations.

It makes the whole thing boring.

hehehe, reading the comics in japanese is fun... especially when you're 9 years old and don't know japanese... I remember finishing the series back then...

Also, if you really want to go WTF... Watch Serial Project Lain... it's very wtf...

akira(pronounced akida) is a massive psycic(sp?) power. it manifests into the guy(cant remember his name) and his body can no longer handle the power so it expands and starts to envelop everything. then it gets blown up and thats the end

WRONG it's not pronounced akida... The ra character is pronouned with a ra/la combined sound... kinda hard to explain.
