nice Hoyt RR. What arrows are you shooting and what poundage?

I'm waiting on some CE CXL's to show up. This I'm gonna shoot them for foam and spots this winter.

Busted a 450 on Vegas last night. WOOOOOOT! First one! Decent x count too, 30 x's shooting 3-39 ACC's. I get me some logs and it's all over but the scoring....

I shoot x7 eclipses, 2312 (still love the fat shaft for 3D)
            At 70lbs.

It launches at about 318-320 fps.

I like it alot. It's older than you might think. It was one of Hoyts original "Tec" bow prototypes I took a chance on and fell in love with. It's funny now, back then it looked like something from a science fiction movie and now almost everyone has or uses some sort of an expanded riser. Also you can imagine what people thought of split limbs back then when they saw them for the first time. Not to mention intregal overdraws.

'97 or '98 timeframe right? About the time I picked up an Enticer Carbonite. And saw huge limb twist from the quad limbs.

Those expanded risers started in 86 when Martin came out with their "onza". They rereleased it this year.

Not a big fan of overdraws myself, too easy to torque if everything's not perfect. I shot one for a few years and was getting a lot more rights and lefts than I was on my spot bows. Took it off and imagine that, rights and lefts all gone.

Close,it's a pre production '94.If I remember right the Onza wasn't an expanded riser at all,I'd have to check on that,it did have somewhat of a built in overdraw, allthough I think it was a 2 piece with a bolt on shelf.

I guess your refering to cam lean? Not a problem with perfectly matched and balanced limbs. Some manufacters tolerances are to great in that area allowing for various problems with alignment and cam instability.I have have quads on 3 bows and I'm very happy with the benifits.

As far as overdraws,FORM FORM FORM.Of course, they will only magnify flaws in form and inconsistancy in your setup.Practice,practice,practice.If you have trouble with torque you might consider adding a peepless sighting system in addition to your regular sight, they will help dramitically with your setup and grip induced torque.I have one one and found it to be very usefull training tool.

No the Onza was the original expanded riser. Had one sold it. Never should have. Go check out Archeryhistory.com and have a look.

Not cam lean, limb twist. Measured 3/32 of an inch of twist in two of the 4 limbs. Split limbs are a fad and they're going away. Might get away with that on a hunting bow, but not on something that I'm looking for that last x on a blue face or FITA round.

Practice? I shoot 2 hours a night every night. Have been for the last 12 years. Paintball's a johnny come lately sport for me. I've been sponsored for the last 8 years by a few manufacturers in both spots and 3-D. Won a few tournies too. When I said I shot a 450 and it was my first mayube I gave the wrong impression. I've averaged 448 with 38-40 x's in leagues for the last 7 years. The guys I shoot with, Jim Despart, Scott Tozier, Doug Williams are all worlds champions at one time or another.

I see no reason to shoot any kind of overdraw on anything with the arrows available to day. Back when there weren't any nice light acc's or all carbon arrows around they might have given an advantage but since you're stuck at 5gr/pound, what's the point? Why introduce any more variables into it? No one I know shoots an overdraw. They're too easy to torque.

Why ugly? I love hoyts, have had a bunch of them and still shoot one for spots. I just have issues with quad limbs from personal experience and looking at a lot of them.

yeah most of the guys I shoot with shoot martins. I shoot merlins and hoyts. Hunt with a mathews. I'm not brand loyal. I'm "how well does it shoot loyal".

I saw DC post his latest FITA score. That guy is sick. 598/600, that's just wrong.

The SVD (Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova)-The SVD can be expected to shoot 2 MOA with quality ammo.

Uhg, 2moa? That's horrible. I thought they were cool back when I was a kid looking the ink off the pages of shotgun news - but never ended up getting one.

I always wondered about the scope which was susposed to be interesting. China is (or was until the crime bill - not sure now) dumping their copies and ammo on the market. Ammo was nasty stuff, rumored to be corrosive.

I agree with facts totaly on everything he said and i do remember reading some where that about 20 that they outlawed hunting on an Island in the gulf. well now they have thousands of 4 foot tall 80 pound starving deer now that seems pretty humane to me dont u guys think so?

I do some hunting every now and then but you all with your compunds make me laugh try hunting rabbits with a recurve or birds for that matter.

I hunt with my dads OLD 70 pound Bear recurve talk about having to work out before i could shoot it....

Dear God! This place is actually legally selling a Barret 82A1 sniper rifle. Does anyone besides me know what this thing can do!? In the hands of a psycho this could wreak some very serious damage. Anyway, I thought this was a military only sniper rifle. When in hell did it come out to civilian use?
