Just curious, but what games do people play clans on?

I know about Blizzard ones, and heard about Counterstrike, but I thought it was just a small thing.... Sorry for the dumb question.

I know about VC, chances are, you just got done testing NHL2K3 huh? I should know, our company did the next gen versions that will soon be out on the shelves.

Gaming clans...hrm...I've led one(lasted more than 3 years and spanned various games from Quake to Team Fortress Classic for Half Life) and I must say, it's quite rewarding when you get together with a group of guys who know how to play for fun, who work together, playing in public servers can't compare to the level of play you experience in clan matches, and most importantly, I've made some great friends because of it. For example, Bad_Knees and I are from the same clan and we've become good friends in real life too!

Games for some is a way of life. You might think it's a sad way to live, but really, with the emergence of the internet, powerful computers, and high bandwidth, online gaming has been taken to a new level and there's no stopping it. We all start out playing video games to have fun. But since we're all human, we all have the hunger to excel at what we do. Whether that's football, basketball, paintball, or online video games, it's that competative edge that separates those who are casual gamers and hardcore gamers who strive to make a name for themselves.

Some clans are cool, but the really serious guys are kinda crazy. Some of those clans are real gay too, kinda like obsolete.....

I've been in a couple cs clans. Nothing serious. being part of a team that is capible of coming up with more advanced plays than "rush left!" is a plesent change from pub server play.

Basically after you've played a game for a couple years you have to find other vets to keep the game challenging or move on to a different game. Otherwise it just gets boring.

My Clan has been around for almost 3 years now. Players have come and gone, but CoA keeps on pluggin' away

Some of the strategies that we run on specific maps can be pretty intricate(sp?) and require TONS of good Timing over Voice-Comm, and Teamwork. De_clan_mill is one map where you can run some pretty interesting strats.

Team/Match Play is MUCH differant than your normal Public-server play. Having teammates you can actually depend on, and not just bait you, is really great. When you scream "NEED BACKUP" and it actually comes is really a rewarding feeling.

Yep! Kewl...yeah, at the time, I was busy working on the Minority Report project. I have a few buddies that work on the NHL games. So were you couped up in the game testing room or did you have your little spot on the NHL side?

Dunno if you've ever seen the VC building, but there's one big room for testing, I was just there. It's funny, I spent all summer playin NHL 2k3 and now I've got it preordered... =P

Aaah! Okay, I thought you meant that you were over at Treyarch for a while doing some in-house testing. Well, it's a good thing when you've tested a game for months, and still look forward to playing it when it's released. I'm wondering how come you won't get your own free copy of it though. That kinda bites.

I think it really depends ..... I have insomnia, so for the past I'd say 3 1/2yrs I've been part of the largest gaming group on the net HOMELAN ... (they have over 200 servers and have over 1200 members).

I think when people lose the line between gaming/reality... life/thegame ... then things are too bad ..... But being part of a clan of peopel who enjoy the same games you do and you guys can have a competition type thing for fun, then thats cool.

Plus sometimes it has its perks ... I've beta tested AMERICAS ARMY with the dev team, BF1942, Neocron, Earth and Beyond ... and I'm currently testing TRON 2.0 ... its cool cause you get information on these games and get to help make them perfect for other gamers, plus I get to play the games MONTHS before they come out.

I have EVERQUEST for the PS2 but since I absolutely hate everquest and people lose their souls for playing it I use it as a coaster for my drinks at work.

Anyhow, im gonna go back to rebuilding my Mag and get ready to head home from work *yes i bring my mag to work the day after i play to kill time while i clean it up from the day before*
