Fellow Car Audio Enthusiasts...I need opinions

Ok, just got a '92 Accord Ex. Two door. Looks like 6.5s or 6x9s in the rear deck and 5s in the front doors.

I have infinity kappas for the rear. Any suggestions on the front doors?

Also has anyone had any experiance with an eclipse headunit. Ideally 5541 or 550440?

Already have capacitors, amps, and crossovers.

stick with one brand for speaker components.... it doesn't make sense to mix brands :) if your going with kappa, just stick with kappa

True, but I don't think I've ever seen a kappa 5" round. Actually I think the only one I've ever seen is a polk ex. I'll have to pull off the panel and see if I can cram a 5.25 in there.

according to the Circuit City site and their speaker fitment guide you can fit 6.5" up front and 6x9 in the back.

Like Law said, stick with the same brand speakers. I have infinity reference series in the front and rear of my car hooked up to an Alpine head unit. Infinity speakers put out a real nice sound.

Man. That would rule. I have 6x9's and 6.5s already. I bet it involves cutting out the door basket and getting a mounting plate or something.

Anyone want to weigh in on a headunit?

I've used clarion and pioneer and liked them, pretty intruiged by the eclipse though. I just have heard they have a problem with skipping.

after using my Alpine for the past 3 years and having no problems with it, I'll never buy anything but Alpine.

I'll second that Alpine suggestion. I'll never put anything else for my own use.

I have used eclipse head units for long time and NEVER had a problem. A good friend of mine loves Pioneer. Pioneer has alot of features for your dollar. As for speakers, don't worry abou mixing brands, front to back. I have had good luck with MB quart and Boston Acoustics. I would choose Boston Acoustics over any other speaker. Remember, it's your ear, buy what sounds good to you.

Yeah, I know. Just looking for possibilities I haven't tried before. I've mostly stuck to pioneer, clarion, infinity, and kicker for all my stuff (around 20-30 different systems). Already have a clarion deck on the way, just wondered if I should pick an eclipse up to try.

the eclipse decks are very nice, and offer very good sound quality. i currently have an alpine deck. it is very good and offers some of the best features for the price.

Anybody ever hear a set of Fusions. I bought 2-sets of 6.5"s for my subu and love em. Sound a lot like Polks to me...but I got them a lot cheaper.

the best thing to do is go to an audio store around you, and see which ones sound the best. They'll sound a bit different in the car, but you will get the best speaker if you test them personally.

It all depends upon what you want in the end. If you're looking at adding subs in the future, looks for components that handle high frequencies well.
I too have Infinity KAPPA 6X9s in the rear of my ride, and you MUST amp them or they will sound like crap. Trust me!

I've tried about 6 different headunits in the last 3 years all different brands and Alpine beats them all hands down. If you want cheap go for it, if you want crystal clear sounds, alpine.
Eclipse are what the pros use, so they gotta be good right, but have you priced them?

as for speakers.. i would genereally agree with going all the same stuff, but since you already got kappa's I have found out they no headunit can power them to sound good, you'll need a amp to run them right 4 channel 75watt rms would be the best those 6x9 take ALOT of juice... trust me it's what I got

Whatever you do be careful with mounting depth, those infinity speakers have HUGE magnets and so you might have to give up some size if you're not careful...
