    Brass Eagle buying WGP!!!?????

Yo i went to my local field/Store today and they was all talking about a rumor that BE might buy WGP. They said that BE was going to buy them and change the name of the Autococker to AutoKnight and no doubt build it from crappy materials. Does anyone know if this is true I hope its not i would hate for that to happen to WGP....

Wow, im sorry, that has to be the biggest load of crap i have ever heard. Probably a rumor made by a 8 year old kid. The last thing Budd Orr would do is sell to brass eagle.

(sorry for the excessive laughing, i felt it was neccesary)

BE is probably trying to leech off good gun designs to maybe boost their company up more, they will need to offer ALOT of cash to get WGP to sell to BE

You know what's funny is, lots of people put down BE, but how many people have they gotten into the sport? BE does make less quality products as compared to AGD, WGP, WPD, and others, but they are still decent markers. I know someone who owns a Stingray I, and it's going as strong as the day he bought it (actually a little better, due to a trigger mod). Also, if something does break, it doesn't cost a whole lot to repair.

BE markers also make excellent tinker's markers. If you doubt me, take a look at the BEOG some time. There's lots you can do with them.

It really angers me that lots of people here seem to dump on BE without mercy. It seems to me that people that shoot BE markers are in the same boat as the people that shoot 'Mags. I've heard lots of claims from uninformed people that 'Mags chop, are obsolete, aren't any good, etc. Some of the same people that defend 'Mags against the uninformed are as uninformed about BE products.

Kid sees BE PB gun at sporting good store. Kid asks mommy to buy. Mommy buys gun for $50. Kid finds out about paintball field, kid goes to paintball field, kid gets made fun of and blasted by other kids with tourny guns. Kid asks mommy for IR3 Angel.

And thus is BE's part in getting people into the sport of paintball.

The "be purchase" issue is that it seems whenever BE purchases a company that place goes down the dumps.

I do believe that BE is rectifying the situation on that (coming out with more durable shells).

The only time I've had problems with my Stingray was when I've forgotten an oring (I like to take my markers apart), or when I've forgotten to oil it. My friend and I have performed trigger mods to our markers (as well as polishing the internals), and they're still fine. Also, I've brought my Rainmaker to the field many times, and I haven't gotten ragged on because of its manufacturer. My friend has had his Stingray there, and didn't have that problem either.

The whole BE/WGP purchase was something that circulated a couple years ago and was not entirely inaccurate (I think PGI even had a comment in print about it). Nowadays, it's people just spreading rumors and trying to get the "high-end" marker owners in a fury. Looks like it still works...

Didnt this EXACT SAME RUMOR get a lot of attention right around the time BE bought viewloader? It was bull then, its bull now.
