I learned that on the highway when the car in front of me swerved out of the way which left a traffic barrel RIGHT in front of me (since I was following too close). I swirved left, over compensated right, and slid sideways across 3 lanes of a highway. Luckily I hit nothing, no one hit me, the car was fine after an alignment.

Glad to hear everyone was ok Phil.

Phil, I am glad Caleb is ok. Your son is an awesome kid (you didnt do too bad ), and sometimes people just make mistakes. His maturity shows through with his admission that he screwed up. Glad to hear he is Ok.

        Phil,

I'm sorry to hear about the accident, but I'm very glad that your son is okay.

I'm no expert but I do not think a little Bondo and a Cumalong can fix this one....

Are those japonese letters on the windshield?

That car was just asking for a beating... :)

I'm glad to hear he is okay. Sorry about the car. I just recently ran off the road myself (passed out, don't ask, I wouldn't believe the story myself). I'm no kid (42), it can happen to anyone. I was lucky, no damage at all.

I really am glad to hear he wasn't hurt.

My g/f's Honda Civic took $3000 in damage (her bro rear ended a Lexus) not to long ago and it looked NO WHERE NEAR that bad. Good thing he wasn't hurt. Tough break on the car.

Well I'm glad he's alright, sounds like it was pretty close to being a lot worse for him. Cars are coffins. Don't worry about the ticket, 2 points is nothing and the cops give tickets for anything. It coulda been a deer and he woulda gotten ticketed. Even if you fight it in municipal court they'll probably lower it to get rid of points and for less money, but you'll still be charged a court 'fee'.

Well if it was a four pointer I would try and get it lowered. But not realy going to do much with a 16 1/2 year old in court these days. And if he had not hit the guide wires it likely there would have not been any ticket. But since there was other property damaged than ours it was required someone be charged.

When you figure it looking at that car its a cinch to be totaled. Blue Book is like 6,500 on it. Air bags are going to be 2000 right there. Only need 2/3 of value damage to total. And the whole front end suspension and every quarter panel, hood and uniframe, under frame carriers even the drivers door and side panel is outa wack. The radiator, AC Condenser and every light up front is gone. Airbox and battery box damaged. Much more under there I cannot tell though. The engine may be slightly at an angle and the right CV joint is dangling so who knows about the tranny. got to be WAY more than 2200 more damage than just the air bag replacement. Probably CANNOT be made right.
