Heres a moral question for you parents out there:
Your son, now a senior in High School, accepted to his top three colleges has had plans to play in a Paintball Tournament for a little over two months. Every week me reminds you that on (whatever date) he will be playing in a paintball tournament with his team, and will be home around 8pm that night, after leaving at 5am that morning.
Your son has cleared his schedule, made the money to play, and is really excited. He still reminds you at least twice a week.
It's now a week before the tournament and your son reminds you that the tournament is coming up, as well as mid-term exams. He studies for at least 4 hours a day after school and work for his exams.
It's now Thursday and the Tournament is on Sunday. Again your son reminds you that the tournament, only now you think that because exams are on Monday and Tuesday(two each day), you don't want him to go. Despite the fact that he has clocked well over 30 hours of study time this week.
This was my exact situation and is the reason why I'm not in Long Island playing paintball right now! As a parent, would you have let your son play? And I'm serious about everything, including study time, and I was planning on coming home at 8 and studying until 12 or so.
