I'm a parent and I would have let my child play as long as I felt she was responsible and took her studies seriously.

In my opinion, the decision should have been made early on and they should have let you know weeks ago whether they were gonna let you play or not. Telling you at the last minute shows that little thought went into it. Ofcourse, that's just my opinion and I in no way mean to say whether your parents were right or wrong because I don't know what their motives were. You should talk to them and find out.

In any case, I'm sorry that you didn't get to play, but there will be alot more games in the future.

You are already accepted? I dont understand... if you studied so hard already (so far ive never studied more than an hour for anything, so hearing you studying 30 hours is crazy to me ), and you are ALREADY accepted, and yet you cant go? After 30 hours I can learn an entire textbook! Whats wrong with them ?

Dang, I'd be upset with my parents if they did this. Your a senior and they still treat you this way? Your parents need to let go and they need to trust that you can handle your own studies. Especially also since you've been accepted to college and will have to handle your own studies if your going away to school (which I assume you are). They can't just take away your acceptance unless it's drastic I believe.

I even got a scholarship to my top school...just doesn't make sence to me. Either way, after finals tomorrow, I'm considering my school year over, no more work for Tyler, just paintball...and my new quad(coming soon)

I know someone who did just that. Screwed up on his 2nd semester high-school grades, and got de-accepted to his top 3 College picks. One of which he has a good scholarship to.

In the end, it actually turned out for the better, but this is an exception, I believe

Yeah, the same thing happed to a couple people that I've known. One of them even lost a basketball scholarship because of it. Make sure that you know what GPA you have to maintain in order to keep your acceptance. Cause if you screw up and graduate anyways and get de-accepted in the process you really don't have a second chance.

I see your point and the point of your parents. I work in the admissions office at my college, and i do alot of work regarding scholarships. Here the difference between getting a $2500 per year scholarships and a $1500 per year scholarships is the difference between a 3.75, and a 3.74. It's just something to think about, if missing this one tourny could save you thousands of dollars in the long run. Would it be worth it?. In no way am i saying that i agree with the way they made their decision, but i see their point.
