Your probably starting to early. And if the jump has to much lip, thats not a good combination. Are you trying to do a frontside or a backside 360? Like, are you turning 90 degrees, then you land on your back, or are you 270 degrees around and you hit the ground? If your like me, I used to try the frontside 360, i'd try to spin to early, and the board would just kick out at the lip of the jump, I'd spin about 270 degrees, and land on my back. They only way that I got around the problem was finding better (bigger), jumps with less lip. I just got more air so I had plenty of time to do the spin, and spot my landing. Buy a helmet and keep tryin. -
Backside 3's have always been easier for me, just because i know where the position i have to move my front foot to (if that makes sense..)
but try spining with your body.. pre-load on the approach to the jump, than in the air unload and spin. spin your body too, not just your waist. you may want to use your arms too, to keep your momentum up.. have fun..

Also remember to turn your head in the direction you're spinning. It may not seem like it a makes a big difference but it really helps. By doing this it will be easier to rotatate your shoulders and bring your hips around. Don't forget to spot your landing and then just stomp it when you get around. Good luck.Good Traders:JoeyJoe367, Blazestorm213, RetardedRiceBowl, rsadich,PaInTbALL zAcH, jwyke. John Dresser, Xas, Darrikws, whydoineedausername

keep your head level and looking for your landing.
SPOT the place you're going to stick the finish.

When I was trying I started practicing with a an old board in my lawn. Just kept jumping and spinning until I was able to do a 180 with a flat footed jump. If you can get that much speed in your spin you should be able to pull a 360 no problem. Also, like what everyone else is saying, when you hit a jump it's better if it's a lateral launch and not a vertical one. Get a helmet, wrist guards and keep trying.Comment

If you keep going partially inverted you are likely dropping your shoulder as you rotate coming of the face of the jump. Many people have a real tendency to do that because they bend too much at the waist. Think about it if your body is leaning foreward and you turn your shoulders in relation to your torso you are essentialy predisposing yourselt into an off axis spin.
To fix - Manitain a straight back as you go off the jump and remember to keep your shoulders parallel to the direction of travel when you initiate the spin. I think you'll find that will ease your problem, where the body goes the limbs and board will follow.

On a side note (possibly helpful), if you are having trouble completing the full spin, try backside 3s first. At least for me (i ride goofy), i had an easier time with them when i was first starting out, because i could get a stronger push with my front (right) foot. For me, it was almost like pulling a kickflip (on a skateboard, lol). Most importantly, though: Don't be afraid of speed! Many tricks are almost impossible without the proper speed coming into the jump. Bagoo, that's all i really have time to say. If you want more help, PM or IM me. I am a snowboard instructor, and, as such, I have gathered many helpful teaching methods....blah i dont want to talk about myself though.

What's the best way to stick a landing on a steep incline? Every single time I touch down my board slides out from under me and I land on my butt. Would leaning my upper body forward a bit more (down the mountain) help?Comment
