    Forged Internals
    Long Tube Headers
    Eaton Blower @ 12psi

Thats pretty much it, blower was a pain to find but I work at a Ford Dealer so all the other stuff was easy to get.

Puts down near 375 to the wheels, so I think thats like 405 at the crank, not sure there.

          MMM SONIC BLUE (drool)

I can't say I would switch to that from black though

But welcome to the club dood. Now start modding.

          Check out http://www.nloc.info and http://www.f150online.com
for a TON of info on the "L". With a filter I went 13.3@102 in mine

Yes indeed go to F150online. I am cphilip over there too. Been a member there since even before here!

Nice trucks they are. Be prepared to put tires on regularly on those. They use a soft rubber performance tire and eat the heck outa them! Not too bad but they are pricey and last about 20K. Same as about any Preformance type tire on any vehicle does.

I've got 22k on my tires now, and probably have about 5k left on em if I stay out of the burnout box... er, on the rear tires anyway. The fronts are almost to the wear bars.

There are other Lightning forums, but the two I mentioned seem to have the most, and most correct info on them. F150 has a few more flame wars than NLOC does. But at any rate, get GOOD info and read a TON of posts BEFORE you go and get that chip/pulley combo.

              BTW what u drive cphilip?

Good deal on your tires milage! You must not be burning em too much and are keeping them rotated and such. Thats real good.

Right now I am driving a 2001 F-350 Super Duty Crew Cab Dually with a 7.3L Powerstroke in it. There is a thread here with lots of picts titled "cphilip drills another hole in his truck" which details a bunch of the stuff I have been doing to it. It's a highway towing beast!

Previouly a 2000 F250 SD Super cab gasser and before that was my much beloved 97 F150 Lariat Supercab 4X4 Off Road. Man did I love that truck. It was set up with Superchip and Gibson Supertruck Exhaust.

MMMM! Black is so yummy... Very nice Animal!

As for mods, well first on the list is the JDM flip chip, then maybe the exhaust. Or, probably the other way around but who knows right now. I can have them preburn the exhaust to the other side of the flip chip so probably going to do the chip first.

13.3 is damn quick for just a filter. Was was your 60 foot?

I have been checking a few sites but have not signed up to any as of now but I will give yours a shot.

                  Thanks

Well really unless you get the Long tube headers there's really nothing you need to burn the chip for. I am getting the Long tubes in spring, but I won't chip mine over that. It has the ability to change your a/f ratios a little, but I doubt it's very much at all. The stock programming is, in general, on the very rich side, which is why you get so much more power on just a chip (which reconfigures the a/f curve). If you're ust planning on getting a catback system, don't worry about getting the chip burned for it. Also be very wary of upping the transmission line pressure with the chip. It's really not the correct way to improved your shifts. If you want to do that, go and get the "Factory Tech Valve body", just do a search for "factory tech" on just about any Lightning forum. The guy who makes them is one of the best customer service guys I've ever seen, and I don't even own his part yet.

As for the flip chip, adding on a pulley is only going to be a few hundred dollars extra, much less if you get the pulley used. So you may just want to go that route right up front. One thing you should think about though, is if you NEED your warranty coverage. If it's imperative that you do, be careful, for any major repair like engine replacement, ford sends out a rep that will go over your truck with a fine tooth comb looking for evidence of a chip, pulley, or other mods. Back to mods, you're in MD, so you're really close to alot of tuners over there (JDM being one of them). If you are going to get a chip, get it tuned on a dyno. They can check your a/f ratios right there and then, retune if necessary, and you'll be set. These trucks are VERY sensitive to lean conditions, so you just want to be really careful of that. The "tunes" they have preprogrammed can be problematic. I'd hate to see a fellow L and mag owner end up with a blown engine when I could've at least said something about it. That said, enjoy it, and get an open element filter asap. The blower whine increases about 3-4 times by just putting one on, and you do get better flow from that filter. All of the major tuners have the filter kits, and you can get one for under 200 bux. If you are going with a catback exhaust, might I suggest contacting some L owners near you to hear the different choices. There should be a bunch in your area. Personally, I went with the Bassani, but I had to have the best for my truck

Good luck, and let me know if you have any Q's. Also, the people on NLOC are very helpful and receptive to the newbie L owner, just like here on AO. Sign up a uid there and start learnin

Cphilip, I love my L, but if I had to choose anything else it'd be the superduty Sounds likea nice truck, get some 'pane on there

                      Oh yeah my time:

                      1.96 60' on stock f1's @ 25psi

This run was in 40* weather. The six runs preceding this one were 13.39 13.38 13.37 13.35 13.34 13.339 and this one was 13.333. Before the filter kit my best was 13.51, but that was in the break in period too. They do get a litter faster once you get to 10k miles. Some have also said they just keep getting faster up to about 80k miles, but I have 22 on mine

That was all hot lapping it, so they do run VERY consistent times.

my buddy Doug has a 2001 silver with a 2000$ stereo system in it, this thing is the most babied truck I've ever seen, it was litterally NEVER driven in rain. I'm clueless on the miles on it, but I'm sure it's less then 10000. He's asking 19000$ for it if anyone is interested in their own truck
