Hippie Fest at my school today...

    Oh man...

All week there has been various flyers, notes, and other things trying to promote an anti-war ralley Today at 12:30. It was supposed to be a "walkout" of class, and at its peak there were about 1,000 or so people there... Don't know how many were supporting it, and how many were just standing watching the idiots (like me) though...

Here at CSU we have a place called the Free Speech plaza. Here anyone can say anything... lots of advertisements, and stuff like that. Its right in the center of the Student Center, which has the food court, bookstore, and a dozen other things in it.

What I was suprised about was the amount of chalk that went on the ground of the free speech square condemning the anti-war rallyers. When I left school on Thursday at 4pm to when I came back Friday at 8am the entire plaza was covered chalk. I took my handey digital camera (I love it, I take it everywhere...) and took pictures of the funniers slogans.

Oh, they created a "human peace sign" in the middle there... pretty stupid... what the hell does that accomplish?

Hehe... "your wish is my command!"

There is plenty... I've often said, CSU has WAY too many "distractions"....

                  Hippies hahahahaha

Yeah got to love the generalizations.

We had one of those at my campus too. Despite being a conservative school (well southern conservativeness is hard to explain, they are conservatives when it suits them basically) it went off fine. No ant hippie posters and the people actually talked for 5 hours about why war isn't good.

They was a couple of na sayers, but they are the drunken idiots who can' think freely if it saved their lives.

yeah, this one went off without a hitch (for the 20 minutes I was there anyway, had a class to get to...)

I was generalizing the hippie speak just because of all the chalk writing on the ground there... plus it seems to draw in more views

It just pisses me off when people for the war try and portray that those of us who are against the war as pit smoking, free love (well that one maybe ), hippies who are only against the war because we missed out on Woodstock. That is only a cop out not to deal with the issues we raise.

I'm not against the people or anything, I just thought this whole rally was stupid. What exactly does gathering around and getting people to lay on the ground in the shape of a peace sign do? Alert airplanes of what this college wants? No, it does NOTHING! At most there MIGHT be something about it in the city newspaper, or something like that, but there are things these people can do better then just stand around like idiots... (just FYI, while I was there, there was no guest speaker or anything, it was just people standing around and laying in a peace sign... don't THINK much happened after that...)

I guess they was trying to spread the message of peace, I have no idea. At our ralley, we had an open mic that was never laid to rest for 5 hours.
