Good post aaron. I may disagree on why but we agree now its imperitive for our survival.

Now lets get back to the reporting!

DO you seem to see the Press now getting bored and anxious cause its not over as quick as they wanted? Are people out there also getting discouraged? Is anyone realy suprised how brutal these people realy are?

I am a little suprised but not much. And I want them to take whatever time it takes to do it safely and spare as many of our guys lives and the civilians lives as can be done. I see a lot of progress towords the unraveling of the populus over there the last few days but thier own people shooting them for is is a bit more often than I had thought. I mean can you imagine what they are doing and how little reguard they seem to have for their own kind?

Seems the Aid ships are coming into port now

And the UN aproved Oil for Food for them all under UN control no longer with Saddam getting a cut.

Russia is very concerned they will lose out on all the contracts they had with Saddam and says Saddam owed them a lot of money and they are affraid they will never see it now.

Syria found to be supplying Iraq with night vision equipment and open boarders to allow Radiacal Muslim Fighters to enter Iraq to assist Saddam. US warns them today.

OK lets refresh some memories here. You all may know that I have always felt this was not a war against Iraq only but a war against Extremest Haters of America that threaten us and attack us. Muslim Extremests predominatly. How have they done so? Well here is a list of all the times we have been attacked not only on our own soil but all over the world America has been under constant attack.

People, we have been at war for YEARS and were too complacent, fat, dumb and happy with the end of the cold war threat to realise it! Here you go....

1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000. Could have been lots worse but was thwarted somewhat.

1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel.

1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel.

1998 bombing of U.S. Embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000; .

2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors.

2001 World Trade Centers NY and Pentagon DC 9/11/01 an estimated 3,000 people in New York and Washington, D.C.

Note that in the first five President Clinton promised to hunt down those involved and bring them to justice. But it was bigger than those just responsible for carrying it out it appears. Much bigger.

We have been at war since we helped Kuwait out and let Saddam stay in power in 1991... we just didn't know it.

You think terrorism against America started then? Let me refresh some memories...

April 1983: 17 dead at the U.S. embassy in Beirut.

October 1983: 241 dead at the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut.

December 1983: five dead at the U.S. embassy in Kuwait.

January 1984: the president of the American University of Beirut killed.

April 1984: 18 dead near a U.S. airbase in Spain.

September 1984: 16 dead at the U.S. embassy in Beirut (again).

December 1984: Two dead on a plane hijacked to Tehran.

June 1985: One dead on a plane hijacked to Beirut.


cphilip you forgot to mention how many of those attacks involved Iraqis.

Don't forget the bombing of the USS Cole(I think Cole) a few years ago that killed a few.
Osama was responsible for it, but it was terrorists.

Jack! good additons! Thanks then you give even more support my premise. But if you ask then about Iraq you failed to read the first intro to that. I said "Extremests" not of one country. Extremest Muslim American haters. Iraq is just one of them. I even include Saudi Arabia in that. And Iran and Syria. And the list goes on! You point out many more even earlier! So lets set the date back even further then! I can go along with that... we have been at war and attacked for a long time and didn't realise it. That was the point I was trying to make.

Good Warped. Another one I failed to remember. Heck we have been getting hammered when you think of it. And its only COMMON source is religeous hate. And I might point out hate that contradict the proper use of that religeon. A missuse of it as a matter of fact but its seemingly caught on.

You know I realy do not mind a protestor thats well informed and has made up his mind with facts as he see's them. But a hater and a person so ill informed and idiotic makes a bad name for all of us. Heck the fact is we are all "Anti-war". None of us LIKES it. Just some of us believe the point was reached where it became nessicary and some do not. But then there are guys like this... It's a whole nother thing altogether.

News is the Missle that hit Kuwait was a SCUD or a Silkworm. Chinese made the later and that one is like a Cruise Missle and flies low so they are leaning to that as the Patriots did not pick it up so they figure it came in low like that. Either of them would be banned weapons. But as we know we should wait for confimation. The press seems to go out on a limb too quick on these things.

Or the three scud missiles latched together (called the scud, way to make things confusing ) illegal.

The first one couldn't go very far, but when they strapped three together they was able to hit Israel.

I am also confused on the news when they say SCUD. For I am never sure which SCUD they are talking about.

Any help would be appreciated.

LOL....well the ban was on a certain range and ANY missle that could shoot that far no matter what it is would be illegal. We have seen some of their Al Samood missles go farther than they are supposed to. and yes SCUD were outlawed and Iraq said they didn't have any.

The latest info is it was a Silkworm. Which would be Chinese. If this is so then we now have another Country that may have provided illegal weapons to Iraq against UN sanctions and one that was adimant we not disarm by force. Sort of sounds like a UN Veto can be bought doesn't it? I fear there are going to be a lot of countries with some explaining to do...

Antiwar protesters hypocrisy

Now, I am in now way saying that those opposed to the end of the ceasefire in Iraq are stupid or unamerican or anything of the sort. As Benjamin Franklin said, "I may not belive in what you are saying but I will die defending your right to say it".

What I am saying is it is just a bit more than hypocritical to do this at an antiwar protest.

It wasn't just the SCUds that were illegal. Anything that had a greater operational range than 93 miles is illegal. Anything that could except any type of warhead other than conventional , i.e. nuclear, chemical or biological, is illegal, any type of unmaned aerial vehicle is illegal. All of these Saddam had.

Basically, the only typ of misle that Saddam was allowed to have were defensive with an operational range of less than or equal to 93 miles. Basically, Saddam agreed to the same type of conditions that Japan did after WWII. Japan was not allowed to have anything more than a defensive armed force.

And one other thing, that is off the topic of your post but it is something that I wanted to just get out there and I hope I'm duplicating any other posts.

This is not a new war. This is not an invasion. This is merely the result of Saddam not abiding by the ceasefire agreement that his officers signed in 1991. Because the inspectors found so man items that he was not supposed to have, the unannounced warheads capable of chem or bio payloads, the ucav's and the scuds to name a few, America got PO'ed and cancelled the ceasefire, which as a member of the UNSC they have the full authority to do based on the clear evidence that Saddam was fully and intentionally lying to the world about what his military capabilites were and what he had. The ucavs and the warheads were never even mentioned on the report he gave us last year.

IT's his own fault and I'm sick and tired of hearing Bush and America being called evil or warmongers or tyrants. Perhaps of some of the other countries around the world had the intestinal fortitude to get off their duffs and actually do something then maybe this wouldn't of happened. [/rant]

Well, that was my 2 cents. Again, no desire to flame, agravate or anger anyone. Everyone has a right to voice their opinion.
