Ok. I bought a new truck and now i need help getting my system back into my ride. I ripped all the old stuff out and i am now puting in an eq. I'm running into a few problems. Everything i'm doing is pretty much what i'm learning now. I'm figuring it out, but i figured i'd ask someone and i know some of you know what you're doing. I tried looking for some other forums for this sort of thing, but i know i can find help here.
The EQ problem is the RCA's. The deck had 2 sets of output rca's. One for the front speakers, and the other for the rear/sub. Do i have to connect those together and run them both into the one set of input RCA's that are on the EQ? The EQ has 3 more sets of RCA's, rear speaker, front speakers, and subs. Now i run the rear and front rca's from the eq to the 4 channel amp i'm running for my high's, yes? Then i just need to connect each speaker to the amp?
Another problem with the eq is it has 3 wires. A black, yellow, and blue wire are all connected onto a plug. I'm guessing that yellow is the positive lead, the black is the ground, and the blue is the remote. Where do i connect each from. The ground i understand just any metal on the truck. The remote i have to connect from the deck and then out to the amps. Do i have to split the power wire to each the deck and EQ? How do i do that without causing a fire?
I think that's about it for now. I'm ripping out the deck tomorrow and rewiring the harness. I have to look for all sorts of connectors because i don't want this rigged. Hopefully you'll be able to answer these for me.
