PS2 or Xbox?

I have been considering picking up one or the other. I am looking for opinions on both to help me decide.

I don't care for role playing games. I mainly like driving, some fighting, and shooters.

Since they both have some type of online gaming, I'd probably try that, so if you have any knowledge of how hard/easy it is to set that up that would be great.

I recently had a chance to play my buddies new Xbox. He only had a couple games but they looked great. We had a blast playing Mech assault and the demo for Apex.

I normally just play PC games, but my wife and I enjoy playing console games, since we can play at the same time. A fair selection of "game show" type games is a plus.

I think there are more of "my" type of games on Xbox, but my wife is more interested in a PS2.

both have marvel vs. capcom 2 and capcom vs snk 2... that's all that matters when it comes to fighting... if you have both for either choice you can't go wrong., heh...

Personally I prefer the PS2... P2 has the games... They really do...

XBox has the graffics though... Much better than the PS2, but if you want games, then PS2 is the way to go...

now i'm no fanboy because i love all the consoles.... but i do LOVE my xbox. To set up LIVE was very simple and i started to play right away. now with the ps2 online u can play with people that have any connection=LAG XBOX
offers liv to only people that have cable, t1, ect. and that results in very minimal lag. i suggest xbox if your going to play games online.

While the PS2 has been a good friend for awhile now. I say X-box. My X has not given me ONE problem. I've had to take the PS2 apart and fix it at least 4 times now.

plus the xbox has an internal memory drive(40mb i believe) and you can store music and play live(SOOOO MUCH FUN) and actually talk with the communicator! omg its soooo great!

Not a thing, coughing up some crap though.

Have one PS2 for parts and another to play on. If it doesn't work. Take it apart and swap stuff out. It's not that hard. Especially if you clean it regularly. I've had to replace the drive tray and a few cables. Looks like a connecter will have to go too.

Hes supposed to but cant really get the money. He told me if I could find somebody else before he does, sell it. And I REALLY need some money about now.
