It is not bad for you, except for those who are sensitive to it (headaches and stuff). However, there is a prevalant myth that it is bad for you... and MSG is often associated with Chinese food. It is a selling point to advertise no-MSG... although if it had MSG the food would taste better and do no harm.

I've been told that it's bad for you simply because it's got sodium in it; a high sodium : potassium ration is bad for muscles.
dunno. I don't feel too comfortable shoving chemicals into my body, no matter how good it tastes.
besides, if what you're eating needs extra taste, ain't there something wrong with that?

I'm considering getting an MSG shaker... bring with me to restaurants.
