Yes, it was a very moving, powerful speech, reiterating America's purpose as the only superpower left in the world.
Genuine emotion came out, he even choked up a few times as he spoke proudly of HIS warriors.

I would follow his orders into Hell. The man knows what he is doing, and is set on doing it. HOOAH!

It was a little humorous watching the Secret Service men scanning all the sailors, while GW shook hands with nearly everyone on the flightdeck. I fully realize it's their jobs to protect him (and HUGE props to them for a difficult job), but I do believe GW was in the safest place on earth. He was supposed to only shake a couple hands for a few minutes, then go below to confer with the brass. LOL! He waded through practically the whole crew, taking nearly 45 minutes before he left topside:)

What a loved and respected man. Thank God for such a wonderful change from the '90's. I haven't been more proud of being in the military, than I am right now.

If GW does all the research and fact finding he and his military advisors obviously did with Iraq, and if it means living free, or waking up to more terrorism, or a nuclear exchange, you're damn right I would go...well, except for Taiwan of course, since they are a FRIENDLY NATION OF DEMOCRATIC PRINCIPLES.

China will eventually invade Taiwan. I wouldn't go to China they could beat us in any conventional war.(no nukes for you stupid people out there)

China does not NEED Taiwan. If they invade Taiwan then of course there will be a high probability for war and it would not matter who was President. We could never invade and subdue China but I don't think the Chinese Government could survive a war with the United States. If we invaded China with no provocation then the Chinese would fight to the death. If their government had bought the war upon the people then there is a good chance that the government would eventually be over thrown.

People are already pissed off with the government due to SARS cover ups. Anyway this discussion is moot. We are not going to war with China anytime soon. It will not come to that (for all of our sakes).

Since when does an established government need to broadcast that they are planning to murder citizens of another country, forcing THAT country to defend itself AFTER THE FACT?

If you think back to just a couple years ago, America was attacked, deliberately, on numerous occasions. Remember those two big buildings that used to stand in New York? Did anybody hear about the attackers coming here to do just that? Training camps, personel, files, and correspondence of terrorist groups and organizations have been found in Iraq and Afghanistan. Are we to just ignore all that we know, simply to justify warfare in YOUR mind? That's bull, and you know it.

Pre-emptive strikes, like our actions in Iraq, are part and partial to combating our enemies. That's how the world works, and always has. That's how MAN is, and always has been. Your "feel good" towards others is comendable, but doesn't mean squat to someone who is bound and determined to see you dead. America's ideals, lifestyle, and people are less than human to terrorists. They don't give a damn how you think or feel, they think of you as dead. They're not concerned with diplomacy, Geneva accords, world domination, "one world" thoughts, or what you had for breakfast, they are only concerned with their single track thinking of killing YOU.

Well, I'm here to try and stop that. My choice of careers, is to protect YOU from idiots like that. If that means going to war with no official proclamation, then so be it. Our enemies no more give a damn about "official channels" than the man in the moon. Americans, and people from other nations, all dies in New York...TWICE IN 8 YEARS! How many more murders will it take for you to accept, that what YOU feel, doesn't matter to a terrorist trying to kill you? Women, children, old people, crippled people, health advocates, and drug addicts, are ALL TARGETS TO BE KILLED, ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE AMERICANS.........

I do ignore the propaganda filled media because I think for myself. General Electric owns NBC and GE has many government contracts no wonder why they don't say anything bad. As I said before the "documents" found in Iraq as you were found are fake to make this war to the public justified. This was not in defense this is because we are an arrogant country, and we need to get down to earth.

Well I'm using the edit button. The war in Afghanistan was justified because the Taliban let Osama-Bin-Ladin(who?) do as he pleased such as planning his actions.

We have no choice but to defend Tiawan. We are obligated by treaty to do so.

As for a conventional war with China, To conquer and occupy China would be almost impossible for anyone, as would any attempt to conquer and occupy the US. To beat them in a conventional war is a different matter. Our air superiority around the world is unmatched. We could bomb them into submission. Iraq had more troops then the US did in Iraq. We saw how that went. Air power can win wars. THe problem is that if war did arise between China and the US, it may well go nuclear. In that type of war, the US would be the winner only in that we would wipe out all of the Chinese 10 times over and they would kill us all only 2 times over. In other words, that type of war has no winners!

I did not want the U.S. to go to war without the U.N. The war, however, is over now. It is time to put that debate to bed and look to the future. The next election should be interesting to see which way Americans want their country to go.
