Why aren't velcro shoes fashionable?

Velcrow is definatley a more functional and easy-to-use means to secure your shoes, but they're hardly as sightly as laces.

i have a friend that wears velcro shoes to work. we all call him the old man. but then again, he acts more like he is 65 than 35 so i guess its acceptable on some level. my 2 year old loves his velcro shoes, he can put them on and take them off all by himself, just like a big boy.

Reef sandals, reebok high tops with a velcro strap on the top, for extra support, but I never use it.
