If you EVER want to be blown away by a concert, go see Danzig! I haven't seen him in 10 years; however, I remember the concert like it was yesterday! The dude definitely knows how to put on a show!

I just have to comment on this... Danzig is a great live show, but I had a wacky experience I thought I'd share.

Kalamazoo, Michigan. Summer 1994. State Theater. Thrall tour. Danzig was rockin'... they had just gotten done with the 4th or 5th song of the set when Glenn decides he needs to get himself up higher for the audience. (Not to poke fun, but Glenn is one short dude.) He climbs up on one of the monitor wedges, which must've been wet due to the fog machines or something - because as soon as he get up on top of it, his feet slip out from underneath him and he lands square on his *** on stage. I have never laughed so hard in my life! I was sure he was going to climb off the stage and kick my butt right then and there, but I just couldn't help it!

I know... long story for short payoff, but I just started giggling AGAIN when you guys started talking about Danzig live. I'll go away now.

Get nothing after Jerry Only. The new Misfits suck hard. Get Descending Angel, it's my favorite.

Also try Devotchkas, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and some Distillers.

There isn't a punk band around today that can touch the Misfits. Speed doesn't make a band tougher. You should listen to the authority in Danzig's voice and the sheer insanity of the lyrics. Attitude is a favorite along with We Are 138. Good stuff from a different time when punk was really punk.

I met Jerry Only Thursday Night

Well, after all this searching for Misfits stuff, I went to an AFI show at the Roseland Ballroom thursday. My girlfriend couldnt see the stage so I put her on my shoulders. The security guy told me I couldnt do that. But, he let us go up to the VIP stage. Sure enough, after standing up there for about 10 minutes, Jerry Only comes walking past, spikes and all. He's a really cool guy. It turns out he lives in my town and his daughter went to my highschool. No sh*t!!

Jerry and Doyle are just regular guys... no attitude, no ego, just plain ol' nice guys. Hella good on stage, too. Just like Spinal Tap, their amps go to eleven. I don't think Jerry's bass even has a volume on it - it's just cranked all the way all the time.
