Warhammer is a miniture scale wargame based on the world that Games Workshop, the parent company, has created in various books and stuff.

There is multiple versions of it also...

Warhammer fantasy... basicly medevil large scale skirmish combat.

Warhammer 40k Epic... not played much anymore

Warhammer 40k... Skirmish combat set in the far future of the GW world. Basicly story line is the semi evil Imperial forces are waging war to take over the rest of the galaxy from all the adversarial armys.

Battlefield Gothic... Well you got this big 40k army now how are they gonna go kick arse without a ride? BFG is basicly space combat in the futureistic 40k setting. In all of its planetary bombardment goodness.

but how do you play? how do you play out a massive war? i mean you got all these pieces but how's a typical game go..

Um basicly its turn based ... I move my stuff and shoot/assault you hit back... then you move your stuff and shoot/assault.

but when it comes down to it for me its all about the modeling and paintwork that people put into there peices.
