me and my best friend are putting a grand into his car and pimping the livign crap out of his sound system. ive got a pretty good idea about whats going in but no time to list it all (ill post later) give some suggestions and what you guys have in your cars

My truck

All alpine. Alpine head, Alpine 5 channel amp. All alpine speakers and an alpine s-type 10" sub. Sounds real good. Needs to be loud to be heard over the diesel.

2- pryamid 4", 200wt each
2- lanzar 15" subs, 1200wt each
1- Lanzar 2000wt amp 2-ch
1- Lanzar 800wt amp 4 channel
2- Lanzar 6x9 300wt
1- sony xplode face cd/mp3 player

all in all a little under a grand

Don't know how things are out where you live but in NJ I can get whatever I need bought and installed for a cheaper price than Crutchfield sell it for. You might want to try shopping a car audio place first.

basicly we want to trash every speaker in his car and replace them all with 200+ watt ones then we are going to get a 4channel 800watt amp to power all 4 of the interior ones. after that (probably before) we are going to get 2 15" subs at 1000+ watts with a 2 channel 2000 watt amp. but the sony xplode cd/mps player is staying. we want that over anything. what kinda deals can you hook me up with. i minght buy through you and I'LL be installing it all. i know his car better then anyone and ill even be building a custom enclosure for his trunk and wireing up his 2nd battery

ok first off throw away that sony hu sony is poop in car audio. go get a panasonic, kenwood, or alpine(one of the best but not n00b friendly) hu. 6x9's are fine in the back but for fronts u gotta go component system. and subs u can pick up 2 12" kicker l7's and matching amps for cheap off ebay. go to http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/index.php?s= they can help u alot more than i can. but u'll be amazed at what u can do with 1k.

I agree, stay away from Sony in car audio. Get an alpine or Eclipse HU, you won't regret it.

I've got Infinity Kappa's all around, 250 watts to each in door and rear dash (two door). Sounds nice.

Does he have a big car or like a compact sports car? Sometimes ive noticed with systems if you have "too much" base (if there is such a thing ) in a small sports car it almost doesnt sound very good. I only have like 1 personal experience to back that up so I could be wrong.

noooooooooo, get away from that pyramid and sony stuff!

in my car, i have to keep my stock deck. it is a mazda6 and i am unable to remove it. im getting focal polykevlar components, and focal coaxials for the rear speakers. i will then have a 12" brahma sub with eith a jbl 1200.1 or a jl 1000.1 in a sealed box. im doing a fiberglass install on my trunk this summer. it should be high gloss blue to match my exterior. all together, about 1400$
