I'm so pissed I could scream... in fact I still might...

    Grrr...

My dad woke me up at 8:30 this morning... Seems like someone thought it would be funny to steal my car stereo and about 55 of my CD's last night. I didn't have a super system you could hear a mile away, just a $200 deck I bought 2 years ago (Ebay has the same deck going for $40 now...), and 20 year old stock speakers... But they took the deck out, and slashed all the wires, so installing a new one will be a royal pain in the butt... They only took the Deck and CD's though... not my Camping chair, Mag light, spare change, or other stuff... just went in, got the stereo and CD's, and took off... I'm just glad I took all my pballin crap out before I went to sleep last night.

It was halfway my fault though. I drive a 1983 Toyota Celica Supra... 2 door with power locks, whenever you lock the driver side door, it auto-locks the passenger... I must have forgot this, because I needed something out of my car, so I went in through the passenger door, which unlocks the driver side too, then only locked the passenger... So my driver side door was unlocked the entire night.

But still... I drive about an hour every day (moreso during school) and it is going to be alot less interesting now. Especially since I'm going to be working the night shift, getting off work at 6am and trying to stay awake for the drive home will be just that much harder.
Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

That happened to my sister in California one time, except they broke all of her windows, took the cd player, a single 12 inch sub, and about 150 cds. They also took all of the quarters that she had been saving over summer for laundry at her college. I bet they got 20 bucks of quarters. Sucks man.

A few years ago during the winter we found a snow shovel thrown through the rear window of our voyager (minivan). You know what they took? A jug of antifreeze. They even left the shovel behind...which probably means they stole that too.

Why would you break into a car for antifreeze?

So you can start your car that you just finished digging out?

Hey Koosh, sorry to hear that man.

Sorry to hear about what happened. I know it's a major annoyance as I had my car broken into last summer.

That's why, when I use cd's in the car - they are always copies of my originals which stay safely at home. It's what the "fair use" clause is for, when it comes to media.

Hopefully the people who did this, get caught.

i got my old tippy stolen from my cousins car a few years ago, which sucked. However, because of that, my parents felt sory for me and pitched in to help me get the money for my Minimag . So it worked out. I hope youget your stuff back somehow.

Yep... This is a classic case of "sucks to be me"

I did file a report, luckily being the pack rat I am, I still had the original box and reciept for the unit... if anything shows up I have the model number and serial number... But still the chances are slim that it will happen.

The thing is that I don't live in a very bad neighborhood. All middle class, and right next to 3 schools. I've accidentally left my keys in my car once and nothing happened to it. Guess I just picked the wrong night to forget about my cars stupid locking procedure.

I only have Liability on my car, so insurance won't do anything for it... What really sucks is that buying a new stereo is going to drain the cash I had saved up for pballin crap. Won't be able to make the mini-scenario I had planned on next week, or buy either the Intelliframe/Zgrip/Eggo2 I had been lusting over.

Oh well. It could have been worse, but it also could have been alot better.

I cataloged all my cd's and brunt them as Mp3's to a cd.... that cuts down significantly on weight if you are into racing

You're lucky the did a some what clean job on it though I guess.

A friend's dad of mine had his car busted into back in Chicago, a very nice BMW, they ended up doing alot of damage to the car itsself.
