I'm not a vegetarian, but I like tofu.

      The store bought stuff sucks.

My dad makes tofu and it rocks. It has texture and its pretty firm. I don't think it's too hard to make.

When he does make it, it involves a blender, soy beans, big *** basin, piece of wood, cheese cloth, and some salt stuff. There might be more involved, but it seemed pretty easy enough. Might wanna give it a try.

It sounds good! I'd love to hear how to make it, but I don't think the calx can eat it because of the cheese cloth...But what is cheese cloth anyways?

It's a fabric used as something like a filter. Put the mixture in and squeeze out the water. Tofu.

Head to your local tofu shop for some good variety of tofu and some damn good tofu! Shoot, I love the tofu shop tofu... even though I rarely have it.

              Tofu = the goodness

A lot of my favorite dishes include tofu. I don't know the english names for them though so sorry. I'll find out from my mom tomorrow.

I am not a vegetarian by a long shot, but I do know a few non-meat meals.

Boil 2 cups of long grain rice in a pot with 3.75 cups of water with a tablespoon of butter and some salt. Add garlic salt if necessary.

On the side, chop up some red onions, green onions, cucumbers, mushrooms, tomatos, black olives. Pour about a 1/8 cup of sesame seed oil(Canola, Peanut, and corn can substitute)into a teflon no-stick wok or on a hot plate set on medium heat. Fry the vegetables for 10 minutes, adding garlic salt and Soy sauce when necessary. Stir when you can smell it. Make a pile of them in the center of the pan and add sesame seeds, place a bowl or pot cover over it for 2 minutes. Remove fried vegetables from heat and place in pan on simmer or low heat.

Take 1/4 the rice and fry in a similar manner. Add remaining 3/4 of rice and repeat. Adding salt, garlic powder, and soy sauce until golden brown.

Mix vegetables and rice and spray with lemon juice. Enjoy.

i would urge anyone considering a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle to please see a doctor or nutritionist. there are so many malnourishment problems you can have from not eating properly. it's really easy to miss something when you limit yourself to one kind of food. i read an article not too long ago about two vegan mothers whose children were going to be born underdeveloped and possibly be retarded for their entire lives because of some vitamin deficiency. (i forget which one) that makes me so mad that these kids are going to have all these problems because their mothers didn't go to a doctor who would have given them a damn vitamin and the kids would've been ok!

if you're going to do something like this please do so in an informed and educated manner.

Good point. Next time you see your doctor for any reason just let him know that you've become a vegetarian. He might have some information or questions for you. For vitamins 1 Centrum a day will give you all the vitamin you need plus some.

MiniMag84, if I may say so again... Not to you, we already talked about it...
                      Grow a garden!!
I'm not a vegetarian, but growing one's own food is a rewarding thing. Plus, If health and knowing what goes into the food you put into you is your concern, then what better answer to your questions than planting a garden. I'll not lie, it's a lot of work, and there were days that I'd rather have been doing somethng else, but it's worth it in the end. Try it some time. Tell me how you feel when you sit down to dinner and the only things that came from the store are the drinks. That is an amazing feeling.

I can't remember the recipie, but mom made these suor karut stuffed banna peppers, they were awsome. I'll have to ask her. (yes I made the sour karut )

The main thing with doing all of that is that you have to preserve the harvest. we always canned and froze our food. Heck, Mom used to freeze whole strawberry pies before she baked them. There is nothing like getting one in the middle of the winter...
