I was in a chinese resteraunt recently and I've never really thought about all the decoration and stuff that's in a lot of em.

...but who is the fat chinese dude with the beer belly? Why is he smiling?

Does he know something about the food that I don't?

Odds are it's Buddha. He is smiling because he has reached Nirvana(you would too probably). He isn't always fat though. In reality, he was probably quite lean because A. He's from India B. He found enlightenment just after walking around India for a couple of years and C. The only fat asian people are sumo wrestlers and americans visiting asia.
