Fromwhat i have learned, is that Nirvana is reached by long periods of medatating and fasting. Which makes u think that Buddah had a vision of the gods speaking to him, which is why he concluded that he had reached nirvana. But after not eating for a long time dont most people pass out and have dreams when they are out. So did buddah really reach nirvana or was he just crazy and hearing voices cause he hadnt eaten in such a long time.
