I am looking into buying a crotch rocket. I understand that I'll most likely kill myself on the thing but I'll have a heck of a lot of fun on it before that happens. Anyway, what are your preferences on these bikes in the price range up to about $8000? I'm talking used prices here, not new. Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, something else? Models too please and tell me why they're good.

Crotch Rockets

And Sheperds we shall be / For thee, my Lord, for thee / Power hath descended forth from Thy hand / Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands. / So we shall flow a river forth to Thee / And teeming with souls shall it ever be. / In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus SaTags: None -
THe first question is, can you ride? Take an MSF course first chance you get. Put the ego aside and get a bike correct for your experience level. bikes are nothing like cars, top speed, acceleration, handling,...etc. All very different. Buying a sportbike is not like buying a sports car. Start reading magazines and checking out websites. Gixxer.com has a pretty informative forum. Be careful and buy lots of gear."Only a generation of readers can spawn a generation of writers"Comment

r1 is a guarantee crash, r6 is a most likely crash.
those bikes are pretty extreme.
if you're willing to take time to learn and not be a jackass, go ahead and get a nice one. that way you won't be wishing you had bought something else.
just be careful and dont get hurt. bikes are sweet.

Ya i am really wanting to get a Crotch Rocket also. My dad said he will never let me get one cause he said they are death traps, but when i am 18 i am buying one.I have been really interested in them for the past few months and my half brothers dad sells them at his dealer ship. And i am going to talk to him soon about prices and such, and if u want to, just tell me what u want to know and i will ask him those questions also and get the answers back to ya.Comment

i'm currently saving what i can and selling all of my belongings to get a bike.
I'm looking at Yamaha Seca II and Suzuki Bandits and SV600s.
I love the look of the naked bike.

You should probably answer that first question. Can you ride? That will probably help with some answers. If you are a noob, don't get a hayabusa.
You don't want to hit 90 in second and have the front wheel come off the ground.

there's a reason nurses and doctors call bikers "organ donors". Looks like to started by donating their brain before the crash. I too am getting a bike someday, but not for wheelies and stopiesOriginally posted by jdpball
