Miscue, N.Alabama doesnt have that many rednecks, the middle of alabama houses the rednecks, the North and South are fine. Huntsville has a great hospital and during the holiday season I heard that it was one of the best places to shop in the country.

Decauter and Huntsville are fine and youd like it hear.

You can't compare the rest of the south to Arkansas. Arkansas is it's own special form of hell. You might as well compare it to Brazil. My theory behind Arkansas is that the only way they could get anyone to settle there and live is to make the roads so confusing that it's impossible to escape.

Jeez, within 20 miles of me are the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Cooper Hospital, Drexel University Hospital, Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia (one of the best in the country), Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and these are just the big name hospitals

JERSEY.... For alot of important reasons....

1) Despite what onthers say it is a very beautiful State
2) Easy Commute to NYC... 30 Min from Central Jersey
3) Property taxes are better than NYC
4) Decent Computer Science Outfits (Also NYC as well)
5) Lots O' Cool Peepz

Sure am! One of my best friends lives in Mobile, so I've had plenty of practice. Plus Alabama jokes are easy, you just swap out the West Virginia and retell it.

PBX is twenty minutes away from me. I live in Central Jersey. Great Place. We get all four seasons. This winter was kinda rough, but it hasn't been like that for a long time. high 60's in spring and fall 85-90 in the summer... although the humidity is much different that Vegas. I gotta say i wouldn't want to live anywhere else... anything you could ever want is within an hour... PLUS... The Beach!!!!!! Can't Beat the Jersey Shore BABY!!!! WOOTWOOT!!!!

Depends on where you are my friend. In the boonies, yeah. But up here in the civilized part of America, the redneck wouldn't stand a chance. He might be to confused seeing more people then cows and chickens for the first time in his life.

We have summer and fall. Huntsville's Red Stone Arsenal does alot of things on missile defense, that sort of things where ppl with a knowledge of computers are wanted. If your interested in working on satelites or anything like that you might find Huntsville appealing. I have some relatives that live in Decauter and its pretty nice, but Im not sure about the kind of jobs they have over there. Good Luck and I hope you make the right choice.

Wow... I'm all for beautiful surroundings... and 4 seasons is really tempting. Also, being near water is great... I'd like to pick up kayaking. Now, I'm thinking being so close to NYC could be really good. I'm thinking that you could live in Jersey, but have job opportunities in both Jersey and NY. Do people make this kind of commute?

BTW, what universities are in the area? I may consider going for a doctorate, I won't know until after I finish my masters.
