Would you quit your job if.....

You worked everyday on the weekend, every weekend. Get crappy hours, work like a slave, and make 5.50 an hour?

I usually work Thursday, friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday. All of those days are my paintball days. Wednesday Nights, Saturday mornings, or Sunday mornings.


I told my place of business, CVS, that I need Sundays off (for paintballing), so what do they do? the schedule me 8 am to 3 pm, every sunday. I tell them if I work Sunday, it has to be after 4, do they listen? No.

I am supposed to get a 50 cent to a dollar raise, which i was supposed to get 4 months ago. I am way uneerpaid for what I do. people who are photo lab technicians (thats what i do) make between 7-10 dollars an hour, i make, 5.50.

I'm forced to pour chemicals, which is illegal for me to do cuase I am under 18, and i spilled chemicals on my skin and got a nasty rash and dry skin. Do they care? No.


I want to go to Ocean City in new Jersey this weekend. All my friends are goin down. and When i say all, i mean ALL of them. Well, not me, cause im stuck....working.

Hell yea i would quit. those are like the worst hours, and you work for like nothin. but i would lok for osme other jobs right before you wuit or have another job waithing.

What are you looking for? Summer part time only or a regular part time job? Look at the banks around here. Mine and the rest are always hiring. Great hours and starting pay of $7 to $8 an hour. Just stay away from Commerce! They pay McDonald's money and you work crazy hours!!!

As for CVS, there are a ton of jobs out there. Discuss this with your parents. If CVS can't work with you, why should you work with them. I am a firm believer in love it or leave it. Life is too short to be unhappy at work.

I'd personally tell them I'd want a raise and that the hours I give are what I can work, period, and if they don't comply I'd then give my 2 week notice to quit. What good is working for me if your not able to use that money on what your working for (assuming paintball). And I'm pretty sure you could easily find a job to pay you more, since your like making just $0.25 above the minimum wage. So yeah I'd definately start looking for another job.

And more places should be hiring real soon to replace all the students going back to college. And yeah like 1stdeadeye said, definately find something you'd like doing. And I wouldn't work too many hours, unless needed because you have the rest of your life to work.

Sorry to hear about CVS that suxxorz... How old are you dude, are you going to college anything like that? Because maybe you should be looking to do something more along the lines of your career goal, know what I mean? I mean if you are in H.S. or along those lines, CVS is a great job for experience, but there are better ones out there... You just gotta know where to look.. PM me if you got any questions... and my pops just told me that they are tryin to raise it to 7.50

well, like 1stDeadEye said, if they won't work with you why work for them. It sounds to me like they're trying to take advantage of you since you're still young. I'd start looking for a new job and if all else fails then threaten to tell whoever monitors their business that they're making you poor chemicals and that type of thing

I got a job for ya. A lifegaurd! I get 8 an hour (which is low , a pool near us pays 12.50 and hour but you have to be 17 where I am 15) for siting around talking to chicks in bikini's all day

if they refuse to cooperate with you, i think that a nice little phonecall about them making you pour chemicals after you decide to quit would be the right idea

I'm actually trying to find another job because i'm not getting enough hours at my TKD school (gotta pay for gas, contact lenses, car insurance, and paintball)

Commerce jobs always suck. I was getting a job at Foodlion and had similar limitations. I had church on sundays, school stuff on wednesdays usually, and I asked for atlease one friday a month free for obvious reasons. When I got my first scheduling calender, I was scheduled to work everyday of the month except a monday and two thursdays. They also informed me I had to be ready for overtime, and this was right when AP exams were coming around. Needless to say, I was not on the schedule for much longer.


I'd say quit and find a good job doing something that is 9 to 5 and part time.


BTW, I got a 4 on my history AP exam and a 3 on my english AP exam....all because I quit work!

find a new job first then quit... cause then you wont be screwed...

also call the better business bureau and report them before you quit that may help your working conditions

College next year. My friend is trying to get me an IT job at a local insurance company (i think its an insurance company). Pay would start at 8 an hour and free certification classes for MCSE and Cisco. But I dont know if I'll get the job.



When i quit, I'm gonna pull a prank. I have to. Everyone does. one guy peed up in our loft, one guy wrote "Preston is fat" and drew a huge picture of our fat manager on the wall. I'm gonna be nice, and just change the text thats printed out on the back of the pictures. On the back it says CVS Store #668, but I was thinkin of somethin like CVS sucks.
