    What kind of job?

As I was looking at this thread I began to think about what kind of job would be good for me next summer, but could not come up with any decent ones. So what jobs have you people had the best luck with? and which ones shouldn't I look into?

oh yeah, and since you obviously lied on your birtday, it depends on how old you are, that will determine how easy it is for you to get a job.

Do what i do to get money
Ok you get a lawn mower(how ever you spell it)
then you go to old lazy peopel houses and beg them until they let you cut their grass for some $, and if they die while begging, no harm in finding their money and taking it. Old people have money!hope this helps

If you have any swimming ability whatsoever, look into being a lifeguard. Get certified in the spring, usually you need CPR for the professional rescuer, lifeguarding, first aid, and sometimes waterfront lifeguarding, depending on where you apply. Go to the Red Cross for the courses, if they don't teach them there, they'll tell you who does. It's worth the effort and the money to take the courses (usually runs around $150 for everything). Pay is awesome for a summer job (i get twice min. wage right now). I work at a state park in NY, they pay better than most private places. Plus, the hours are good, its full time, and you're required by law to get a half hour break every hour. I usually get half hour on, half hour off, today i got half hour on, hour off (You get paid while on break).

We get such "good" minimum wage rates because it costs so damn much to live here. It also helps to get paid that much when you have to pay $80 for a case of paint at a good field. Anyway. Personally I feel I have the nicest job a teenager could ever want: I teach kids how to sail at a local sailing club and I'm out in the sun in a motorboat all day long(although yelling kids and the heat can get to you ).

In all likelihood, you'll be dealing with the public. And having a job in that field, I must say, the public SUCKS! 80% of the public are annoying, inconsiderate arses (for lack of a better word)! People are picky and will sometimes do everything to annoy you, most of the time it's not intentional. This is enough to drive one crazy. If you can, try to score an office job. It's boring, but the pay is usually good, and best of all, you don't have to deal with the public!

In all likelihood though, you're probably going to end up in some restaurant/food serving-place. That's where most teens end up. If you can try to score a job at some kind of retail store, like a computer game store, toy store, movie store, etc. Generally these jobs are better than the others.

Personally, I work in a local hospital cafeteria as a grill cook. I make $8.25/hour, per diem (extra $1.00/hour after 3:00pm, extra $1.00/hour for working on a weekend), meaning on a weekend after 3:00, I'm making $10.25 an hour. The job sucks, though. If I were you, I'd take what you can get. The job market is tough to get into these days, so don't be upset if you have to settle for a place like McDonald's.

If you can get a job where you don't work with the public GO FOR IT.

I was a wrapper and all-around guy in a grocery store and the people are just so annoying they break stuff, get lost and stuff like that.

Now I work in a factory, lift stuff, operate machines, clean some parts, it's more physical and the pay is still minimum but there's only 1 guy to annoy me and it's my boss.
bla bla bla, does anyone read this anyway ?

I do web design year round, usually make $500 a month doing maybe one or two sites. When I was younger I used to caddy at a country club on the weekends.
