I worked for 5 years at a mcdonalds when i turned 14 until i was 19.... at the tiem of leaving that job I was making over 10/hr and was a floor supervisor/ swing manager

Sure its fast food but it is very good as a future reference if you can get up in the ranks there. I have been jobless for 5 months and luckily I am now a manager at a tacobell for 10/hr. Do i like working fast food? No, but when you can't find anything else its a great thing to be able to land any job.

Find a small, local contractor that builds homes. They're always looking for gophers. Usually pay under-the-table and you learn skills that will be more than useful.

                      Bus boy-------'nuff said.

I had this job for an entire summer at a local restaurant, and it rocked. I made around $15/hour, got to enjoy all my summer days, and was out early enough to go out at night. It's such mindless work too.

This summer, I decided to wait tables at the restaurant. bad choice, so much more responsibility, stress, and not much better pay (from my experience).

So i vote for bussing tables at a fairly fancy restaurant. Stay away from the Friendly's, denny's, etc..

LOL, i reffed soccer games for 4 years. Just got sick of being outside in the heat, not being able to talk to people.

I now work at a BBQ restaurant and I like it a lot better. I'll never go back to an outdoor job, or a job where I don't get to talk to anyone.

But reffing soccer IS good money. I would get the age group (U16 = 16$ a game) for line, and age group + 6$ for center. It would be nice to center U19 games and get 25$ for an hour and a half.

Just gets old after 4 years. I did it from 11.5 years old to 15.5 years old. Got sick of that crap. But its a great first job. My little brother is 12 and he is going to start this fall.
